Discipulus is the best accelerator in the country for companies shaping the next 250 years of American prosperity. Apply today.
Jakob Diepenbrock@jakobdiepen

250 years ago, a small group built something the world had never seen: America. 🇺🇸 That spirit never died. In 2002, @elonmusk moved into a warehouse in El Segundo and proved Americans could still build the impossible. A generation of companies was born from that building. They're still being built here today. If you're building something your family and your country will be proud of, come to the Gundo and build what you need to. Apply for the Fall Cohort below. Deadline July 17th. Featuring @jordannoone and @jordan__black

From stealth, privileged to introduce American Turbines. We're building a new class of small, highly manufacturable gas turbines for rapid-to-deploy energy generation. Abundant energy is the soil from which everything else grows: intelligence, industry, the next century of work. The only way forward is energy generation we can scale by orders of magnitude. We're building that here at American Turbines. Hyper manufacturable, by design. @amturbines

Today we placed posters around the country telling the story of what it means to Become a Rainmaker. Modifying the weather requires frontier research. Meteorology, physics, machine learning, solid state radar and optics systems, we are hiring for across all these disciplines But, no amount of novel hardware or hours spent in the lab can actually modify the weather unless our systems are tested and deployed by humans in the field Until teams of gritty, relentless, disciplined mountaineers deploy our tech in remote locations during freezing snowstorms—it’s all just theory. And Rainmaker is in the business of contacting reality. So we are hiring teams of Forward Operating Specialists to bring theory into practice again this coming winter. In the hardest conditions imaginable, the FOS is responsible for using all the systems Rainmaker has built. They are Rainmakers in the truest sense of the word. They are the ones who work with nature. They are the ones who modify the weather. Their field work is the final factor determining whether our operations produce more water. It is a tough job in service of a beautiful mission. We are in search of gritty, soulful, dutiful people who want to work with nature, harness the elements, befriend the locals, and bring water where it’s needed most. Become a Rainmaker. More info in the replies.

I’m in @FT today making a simple argument: data centers are creating market-driven demand for American-made industrial tech. This is the kind of industrial renaissance Ds and Rs say they want, but politics are pushing hard the other way. /1 giftarticle.ft.com/giftarticle/ac…

Today we're announcing our fourth Canto, or Fund 4. A canto is a chapter of an epic — one part of a longer song, meant to be told and retold. We exist to back founders on the unfinished, unproven journey that may one day be worth singing about. Hardware isn't software with extra steps. It's a different game entirely — different founders, different timelines, different ways to fail. The playbooks that worked for SaaS and the internet era don't transfer. Because building in the real world is brutally hard, most attempts don't make it. The ones that do are run by people willing to take on a harder, more dangerous path than everyone else — and willing to keep clearing the bar, stage after stage, when the odds compound against them every time. We exist for those founders. The ones building for, in, and around the physical world. The ones whose work might still matter a hundred years from now. Cantos is for legends in the making. Resonat in Æternum.

Cantos@cantos

We have two exciting announcements today as Cantos turns 10… First, we closed our new fund earlier this year. Canto IV is a $70M fund purpose-built to lead pre-seed and seed rounds. We oversubscribed, wanting to keep it right-sized for being a founder's most aligned first partner. Second, we launched our new look with help from our friends at @asimov_co! Cantos is so-named as an ode to epic poems, where grand stories are written in "cantos" rather than chapters. We view founders as the protagonists of today's epics and seek to back those whose deeds become the stuff of legend. Our new website is a testament to the scale of their ambitions, with visions from a future they will have shaped. Resonat in Æternum 🖋️

Excited to announce a $30M oversubscribed fund. 🇺🇸 El Segundo is the world's best place to build hardtech and we're the pipeline for founders from across the world coming here to do it. Joining @tbpn later today to share more. If you're at the earliest stages of building hardtech for critical industries reach out now! Link to Axios article in thread.

Askari Defense@AskariDefense

Today, we’re excited to share that @AskariDefense has raised a $9M seed round led by @BuildersVC to accelerate our work building hand-launched, autonomous interceptors for the operators closest to the fight. Our focus is simple: give dismounted teams a lightweight, kinetic, fire-and-forget capability against hostile drones without waiting on a vehicle, a fixed site, or a perfect RF environment. We’ve already secured major contracts, delivered systems to demanding government customers, and proven that small teams can move fast in one of the most urgent defense categories in the world. The future of counter-UAS is not just bigger systems. It’s smaller, faster, more autonomous, and carried by the people who need it most. We’re grateful to @BuildersVC for leading the round, with participation from @SovereignsCap, @swellvc, Rule 1 Ventures, WaterStone Impact Fund, and a syndicate of defense leaders including @dominocielo, @DanMagy, @naweed, James Kubik, and others. We’re also grateful to the early believers who followed on and doubled down on Askari’s mission: @BlackwingVC, @KnollVentures, @OverlineVC, Georgia Tech Foundation, and Teamworthy Ventures. Back to work. #AskariDefense #CounterUAS #SeedRound
