The weight of what’s happening in NYC schools right now, and the fact that @NYCMayor and @UFT are just allowing, even encouraging it, is just completely crushing me tonight.

Teachers are literally working in 20 degree classrooms today, where multiple students either have Covid & or were exposed just in the past week. And @NYCSchools has cut back on PCr testing, & gives us 1 mask. Where is @UFT? No one can learn or teach in these conditions.

I hope my swagger keeps me wArm today!

I have no words to describe what it is like to be a teacher right now.

Meanwhile, teachers & students are completely safe in rooms with 35+ people. It’s an understatement to say that we are outraged reading this headline as we head back to school during the Omicron surge. Especially the educators in places without mask mandates & poor ventilation.

Also only 10k tests for a city of 8 something million?? Are you dumb or are you stupid @NYCMayor????
