As promised, a new direct train from Bengaluru to Mumbai is flagged off today. 30 years after the first one began, in 1983. Another, faster Vande Bharat overnight sleeper will begin soon, in a couple of months. Thanking Union Minister Shri @AshwiniVaishnaw Ji for launching the SMVT Bengaluru-Mumbai Lokmanya Tilak Terminus bi-weekly Express service today. This new train will improve regional connectivity and contribute to the economic growth of Karnataka and Maharashtra. Today, I also requested for a high-speed rail corridor on this route, via Davanagere & Hubballi, which would greatly reduce travel time and generate immense opportunities for people in the region.
