@qQueueCue Liam probably goes mid-late 1st and Markus probably goes in the 2nd.. I don’t see them going too much higher considering the concerns on whether they’ll translate. The WHL is much weaker now, but the point production will still make some teams take a chance

@qQueueCue It’s cause they put up points in pretty junior hockey fashion.. they have weaknesses to their game that you can get away with in the juniors, but it’ll probably be hard for them to translate.. Liam has a great shot, but they’ll be projects.. I don’t hate taking Liam in the 2nd

@ForeverMidCGY People are oddly low on the ruck brothers, perhaps the eye test reigns supreme with em. But they were the first 2 players to hit 100+ points in the WHL iirc. Thats a LOT better than people seem to wanna admit

Varying degrees of success, but you can't bet your entire hopes on a 1st OA until they've played NHL games. Even then, Matthews is/should be the same calibre or VERY close to MacKinnon, but they havent done a super good job with the surrounding team

I'm not saying Hagens won't be a Bruin soon, but situations like this are why it benefits Calgary to be overflowing with prospects and draft picks. Because if a team suddenly has trouble getting a top young player to sign, Conroy has the currency to make a good offer.

As the #Flames schedule grows weaker, they'll stop winning so much. We play up to competition. Whether thats because they underestimate us, they play their backups so we can score, or our system is better at shutting down the more predictable "right" play vs run and gun young'uns
