@pashadelics This seems to be an indicator that they will eventually hand off the Lebanon file to Syria as they have failed to dismantle the lranian Axis.

The old paradigm for thinking about the Middle East - Israeli axis vs Iranian axis - is quietly being undone in ways that will determine the future trajectory of the region. Those stuck on the old paradigm will not be able to understand this.

Today, #Syria, #Jordan & #Lebanon confirmed a strategic trilateral gas & electricity interconnection deal -- via the Arab Gas Pipeline & a transnational electricity network. #Syria's Energy Minister said all pipelines & electricity infrastructure is repaired & ready.

@DerekPederson3 They preferred a weak, divided state run by a minority dictator, not because it would create instability. It was already unstable, just internally. Now, as things stabilize internally, they fear it will one day project power outwards against you-know-who to the south.

People who opposed toppling Assad because of the risk of instability really should concede that they were wrong, and keeping him in power was just far more destabilizing than getting rid of him was.

@sfrantzman What most are ignoring is that Jordan needs water and the West's military coIony has historically weaponized water against Jordan to get it to submit to its interests. New Syria has pledged to help instead. Jordan's not going to risk that by supporting a minority narco-statelet.

Interesting point re: Jordan’s role What it also paints a picture of is that the two key friends of Damascus, one on the northern border and one on the southern border; are both also western partners and allies such that their views are taken seriously in chanceries in Europe and the Gulf too. This matters as well

@chitowngirl1982 They want to debt trap or aid trap Syria like Jordan and Egypt so it will always be subject to their influence. Unfortunately for them, the West let things get so bad in Syria to protect their military coIony to the south that every day is better than the next.

@RamiAhmed117851 @Nothingnety @celinekasem Over a million Syrians returning to their land is more than you could do in a thousand lifetimes. And much more. God and the 90% Syrian Sunni majority know what he's done. You can keep slandering and whining from behind your phone.

There's a big debate in Islam on what freedom an individual has to sin. For example, when the sahabah ruled over the sassinian empire, they allowed the magian class the freedom to keep having their incestuous marriages. Another example is: There's the freedom to choose not to go pray Friday jumuah. As for dancing, I don't believe this particular freedom to sin should be allowed in the public sphere. This has harmful affects on society, unlike not choosing to pray. The most lenient approach (worth entertaining) is allowing these people to dance in private settings and gatherings, but nothing open to the public. Obviously, the best thing possible is to have a complete ban on all this disgusting 🤢 clownery 🤡. But we are not in a position to do this when 90% of our population lives in abject poverty and our state is extremely fragile in terms of power dynamics and international integration.

@Military_OSTX شو هذه الفكرة؟

𝗦𝘆𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗢𝗶𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗣𝗶𝘃𝗼𝘁 📌 Russia has become the main oil supplier to Syria, with shipments rising to around 60,000 barrels per day in 2026. 📌 Moscow replaced Iran as Damascus’s top supplier following the fall of Bashar al-Assad in late 2024. 📌 Syrian officials cite economic necessity and limited alternatives, despite efforts to diversify supply, including outreach to Turkey. 📌 The reliance risks straining relations with the European Union and United States, and could expose Syria to future sanctions. 📌 Most shipments are handled through sanctioned tanker networks using ship-to-ship transfers to obscure origins and bypass restrictions. 📌 Domestic production remains far below demand, leaving Syria dependent on imports and vulnerable to geopolitical shifts. Syrians don’t realize how significant an achievement the “forced” integration deal with SDF was, especially considering it was carried out relatively peacefully. The SDF were prepared to destroy northeastern Syria.

#Syria: SDF prepared one of the largest booby-traps ever documented in the war. Video filmed inside the tunnel dug under the M4 Highway (N. #Raqqa) shows a large section of it was prepared for detonation with dozens of IEDs. Alongside 100s of kilometers of tunnels uncovered, the footage highlights the scale of preparations made for years by SDF/YPG - most of these defenses were ultimately abandoned following the rapid collapse of mid-January.

@software98539 @Polymarket The point is that it reflects how great powers perceive the foolishness and failure of "the world's greatest power" in its recent actions and that only smaller powers, likely looking for handouts, are willing to "lend a hand". @thoughtflblonde Huh? Light weapons will always be relevant. If anything, recent conflicts have shown the limitations of advanced and new technologies in creating strategic victories without meaningful ground forces with light weapons in hand.
