Well howdy! First time poster, long time caller. I am a QA professional who has worked with mobile devices a long time. When Claude Code hit, I was excited until I realized that it could barely do anything with mobile devices apart from writing app code and installing the app.

@birch_js @thymikee @bidah It’s true! Quern doesn’t have a UI at all - it is focused on agent usability. But it has all the ui control /logs /screenshots many others have, PLUS a full featured network proxy that is basically a headless, programmable, per-simulator proxyman.

@Kelset Quern is a must! Claude can now test on mobile, plus it has a full featured network proxy, great for testing network error handling. quern.dev

📢 native mobile devs! (#ios and #android) I'm curious: what tools do you use with your coding agents/LLMs? Any special skills or tools that make the agent better at interacting with your app? I'd like to get a sense what's up in your 🌍 ♻️ appreciated 👀

Quern version 0.13 just dropped this morning. We replaced our idb dependency (for iOS simulator control) with a home-rolled interface inspired by the folks over at baguette. quern.dev

@itshanrw Hey there! Just wanted to let you know that I integrated a couple things you were using in baguette. Also, discovered a solution to a problem you have, check out issue 17 I just filed on your GitHub repository. 😎 Thank you so much!

@optimalfocus @anamhira Quern uses local simulators and/ or real iPhones. If you develop anything that needs a real phone— Bluetooth accessories, NFC interactions, etc. you need real devices. quern.dev

@natiakourdadze You might like Quern. It lets your agent (Claude or whatever) take care of building and installing your app, manage your simulators, look at logs, use the UI in realtime to complete tasks, and even write scripts for repeatable stuff you don’t want to burn tokens on…

The Framework 13 Pro is truly in another league. I have a pre-production version (the one I bought gets here in July), and this thing is beautiful. I've been using this for an hour, so I'll post a more detailed review in a few days, but for the first time ever I feel this can go toe to toe with a MacBook in terms of quality. As a reference, I've been a Mac user since 2009. Fast. Top-notch trackpad and keyboard. 4:3 touchscreen display. Upgradeable. Infinite battery life. Here is a picture of me writing this tweet. I'll record a video next week.

@NextGenAi5 You forgot the ‘test’ step. Quern can help with that. It is built to help Claude understand how to work with simulators, devices, and your app, so you can build, run, and test your app by asking Claude to run test cases in plain English. quern.dev

@MainActorDev @urugothor @hxxwhite Good question. Anything in particular you want to see demonstrated? Quern is AI-first and doesn’t have a UI. It’s your agent’s window, and your simulator (or video stream of a real device).

We live in a world where basically every idea can now be productized within hours Most of those new productized ideas may only end up having 1 user (you), but it’s still incredible 🤯

For 50 years, software engineering ran on code rationing. Writing code was expensive, so we rationed it carefully through roadmaps, RFCs, prioritization meetings, and scope reviews. This created a role: the No Engineer. No, that won't scale. No, we don't have bandwidth. No, that's out of scope. No, we need a design doc first. The No Engineer was valuable for 50 years. Every "no" saved real money. Their judgment was the rationing system. LLMs will be the end of code rationing. Code is cheap now. And while the No Engineer is explaining why something can't be done, the Yes Engineer has already shipped three versions of it. If you're a Yes Engineer, the next decade is yours.

for anyone building apps, this is one of the coolest things I’ve seen this week i’ve been head down working on multiple revenue generating apps, and having a simulator built right into codex is a game changer thinking about building my next app publically 👀
