🚨🔦Ethnicity and benefits - somewhat of a disaster! Since 1991 our cities and towns have changed beyond recognition. Have we imported benefit dependents and wrecked our finances? (see first chart for the sheer scale of the change in ethnicity) 25% of all income support (not even including housing) is taken up by just 10% of the most ethnically concentrated local authorities 👇This can't continue.

I particularly enjoyed your discussion with @DrDStarkeyCBE.However, I agree with him that we have to return to an era where the state imposes regulation and constraints on religious practices. The opposite of your opposition to Erastianism (state supremacy over religion). 24.39 (DS) "I have no problem in saying that that a religion or indeed anybody I any organization including revolutionary communism that is actually conspiring to change the our system of government is one that needs to be suppressed by law that needs to be limited by law and that we should be absolutely and unquestioningly confident about saying that." We cannot afford to let ones own religious preferences get in the way of a greater good. youtu.be/87yvoaII184?si…

Should @reformparty_uk form the next government, they would be well advised to undertake a comprehensive overhaul of the income tax system. @RobertJenrick could explore replacing the current threshold structure and reducing the tax burden on lower‑income groups. We argue this approach would help ease the work‑benefits trap which many believe is constraining economic growth. Free 👉whitehallanalytics.substack.com/p/should-rober…

This is an important moment for @reformparty_uk They need to develop the language and intellectual framework to communicate their position without making a mess of it because of terror about being accused of being racist. That can only come with rigorous argument, education and explanation. This has been lacking so far.

If the only way Katharine Birbalsingh is able to get that school to work is to enforce vegetarianism, silence in corridors etc..... ......and the school was still sued over a prayer-room then it's not going to work on scale. What? Every school is vegetarian, enforces silence in corridors? Not workable. I suspect those parents put up with it because of the grades but that won't apply to average schooling across the whole nation. The problem is pandering to an aggressive and belligerent religiously oriented minority doesn't work. Tower Hamlets, Birmingham, Bradford are not model cities of economic and cultural success.

but comments like this 👇from Rupert are just mad in practicality and the minds of most voters. This is what I suspect 'frightens' @DrDStarkeyCBE. And rightly so. "And in the end let's return to caveat emptor and we know what that is. We don't need the regulators. You just need caveat emptor. And you know what that mean? That is buyer beware. And if you go to the wrong place and you spend your money with the wrong person, you lose your money. It's your problem."

Astonishing that a Kent Conservative MP is complaining about council tax. In six of the last 10 years, the Tory-administration in Kent has raised council tax, by the maximum +5%. "The only wisdom we can hope to acquire Is the wisdom of humility: humility is endless", TS Elliot.

After the Gorton & Denton by‑election, the key question is how many Labour seats could be vulnerable if two things happen together: seats with relatively large Muslim voting blocs, and a significant switch of both Muslim voters and left‑wing/Labour‑leaning voters to the Green Party. To explore this, we estimate the size of the Muslim voting bloc in every Labour‑held seat in 2024. For each seat, we then calculate the minimum number of votes that would need to switch from Labour to the Greens - split equally between the Muslim bloc and Labour’s wider vote - to overturn Labour’s majority. We then rank the seats by the size of their Muslim voting bloc to make the pattern easier to interpret. For example, in the first seat on the left‑hand chart, Labour would be unseated if roughly 6,000 Muslim voters and around 4,000 Labour voters switched to the Greens - around 10,000 votes in total. Running this calculation across all Labour seats suggests that around 10-20 constituencies could, in theory, become competitive for the Greens under these conditions. However, replicating the level of traction they achieved in Gorton at a general election is far from guaranteed. Turnout effects could also change the picture, and we will model this in a later post.

Muslim sectarian politics.....a serious and unpleasant development we just don't need. But probably more so because of its feared impact for Labour front benchers in marginal Red Wall seats. With meaningful Muslim bloc votes on one side and squeezed by White 'Red Wallers' on the other.

@DailyTPodcast That's correct. It's geographical so they can also benefit by voting in blocks. The Pakistani and Somali communities, for example 👇

@EssexPR Nigel has literally lined up a bunch of Tory turncoats for you to pretend as if they offer substantively different, whilst casting out an army of battle hardened veteran campaigners for fear of Beth Rigby giving him a disapproving look. He isn’t the guy, mate.

I’ve spoken to Rupert for years on here, I think that he is a leading light in many areas that he puts his mind to. His Grooming gang inquiry is truly amazing for the victims and in highlighting the cover up. I respect him. But for voters to honestly think that Restore can win the next election is pie in the sky madness. Impossible. We’ll end up with a Green/Labour Government.

Basil stated @Nigel_Farage didn't want to send all illegal migrants back. Bizarrely claiming that only illegals after Reform came to power would be returned and not including women. Obviously pointless. To back up his point he chose words from Nigel Farage and implied they meant something they didn't. So hear what Farage actual said regarding this matter in a @SkyNews interview. 👇

This is a pipe dream. The @Conservatives lost because of incompetence due to powerlessness. Why? Because they drifted left and became utterly ineffective. Much of your voter base knows this and is naturally @reformparty_uk sympathetic. In the South many switched to Lib Dems to get the Tory Party out - who will in 2029 join Reform. The others will swich to Reform (now a viable option) because why vote Tory and risk a split. The chart below shows the precarious position the Tories face. Their winning seats have a majority of 5,000 or less and it doesn't take much of a switch to remove them.

The Conservatives have responded to Suella Braverman's defection to Reform, blaming her "mental health". No self reflection. Just dirty smears and insults. They sound as bad as the political left. The 7th of May can’t come soon enough. 🔥
