My Leica card is up for renewal and I realized that I haven’t posted enough photos of my Leicas this month to qualify for renewal. I’m still in “Rookie Numbers” territory.

“Main Character Syndrome”… I guess I’m having trouble seeing how it is a ‘sulyndrome’ to consider yourself the main character of your story. Are we supposed to just consume and react.. and be NPC’s?

I limit myself to one shelf to display my collection and culling the rest. It sounds nice and looks great, provided that I don’t show the rest of the cameras currently spread over folding tables in my garage getting tested and sorted to go up for sale 🤣😳

Opinions on the @leica_camera EV1 now that reviews are coming in? Me: We just wanted an M mount XPro4 and got a manual Q2 without Macro mode and an M mount.

@MaxRovensky @sdw Objectively speaking, the Q series is pretty amazing in relation to competing systems of the same size.

@sdw my hot take is that Leica has not produced anything good or worthwhile since 1975 and they peaked as a company in 1969 with 3rd gen Summicron

@0xWeham I have to agree. I was really hoping for a hybrid viewfinder with an EVF overlay - an XPro4 with an M mount lol.

Call me an old man, but the new Leica M EV1 feels like an abomination to the companies heritage. The company gained recognition from the rangefinder, world renowned photographers captured stunning photographs with a rangefinder, its simple. If you think a rangefinder is too hard to use, be a better photographer… If you don’t want a rangefinder, go buy a Leica Q, SL or just get a cheap Sony, Fuji, Canon, body and adapt M lenses. For context, I’m a Leica fanboy. I own around 5 MP film bodies, a Q3 43, and an M11. This isn’t that I’m against Leica, I’m against people creating something that isn’t needed and forgetting about their heritage. #leica #leicamev1

Watching Severance while working on catching up with work in the evenings. Very ‘meta’ — enjoying Ben Stiller’s commentary on the dichotomy of our ‘corporate self’ versus our ‘personal self’. My wife first mentioned the fact that Michick’s camera looks like one of my Leicas..
