@Mel4Chrgrs I just started my... 5th? 6th? reread of Hyperion. It is easily my favorite novel of all time and one the best works of science fiction ever written. There is nothing else like it. Get to it at your leisure, of course, but I think you'll find that reading it is its own reward.

My general advice for anyone trying to go into econ PhD is to not blog. Just ace classes, RA, build connections, and most importantly spend most of your own time on research. You don’t need a lab or much funding to do an interesting economics project.
