I don’t know how I will cope up with the loss of a lifelong icon, who I had the privilege to interact and work with. It’s a deeply personal loss for me. My entire political conscience revolves around two patriots — Dr Manmohan Singh and Smt. Indira Gandhi. One I never saw, and one chose me to enter politics. I still remember that red letter day when I got a call from the PMO, saying that we need your assistance, I didn’t even know where the PMO office was (true story!) I was just 25 years old. All these years, the more I research about his Government’s tenure, the more I know how he silently steered the country towards the path of development. A true patriot, a man of impeccable integrity, a statesman par excellence and a gentle giant with tremendous wisdom — he was everything and more. I was forever awed by his presence, but he had the innate ability to appreciate you. Have always seen him so affable, calm and humble even with his junior most colleagues. Dr Manmohan Singh ji — you are a role model for people like me who have only some scholarship, belong to a Middle Class family and have no political background. You are the role model for millions like us, who silently admire you. You inspired us to dream big and dream courageously 🇮🇳 Thank you for changing my life sir. 🙏 You shall always be celebrated.

I have been in Keralam for a couple of days now. What I see and hear on ground is that 10 years of LDF rule has been a decade of broken promises and quiet loot. Across sectors, across communities, people have been let down. The youth are pushed to leave home in search of jobs. Those who stayed face rising drug abuse and shrinking opportunities. Public health is on a ventilator with crumbling infrastructure. Families are being pushed into debt with just a single medical emergency. CPI(M) did not even spare the sacred Sabarimala temple. Looted it. Attacked the faith of every Ayyappa devotee without shame. And through all of this, the CPI(M) and BJP have been quietly helping each other…. In seats. In spreading divisive politics. In enabling each other's loot. The Communist Janata Party nexus is real and Keralam is seeing it clearly. Undeniably, there is a strong wave for UDF across the state.

A large part of being a corporate lawyer is realising that the MCA portal is PAINFUL to deal with and a lot of our problems will be solved if people also cared to look after the unsexy parts of the ease of doing business reform.

My sister was a Surgeon Rear Admiral in the Indian Navy. To erase her service and reduce her to a stereotype says more about the mindset behind the comment than anything else. We are proud of our upbringing and our service to the nation which you are obviously incapable of understanding. From inventing a “secret MoU with China” to misrepresenting professional records, this is a pattern of assertion without evidence. Public debate deserves better than conjecture dressed up as fact.

This is the post for those who aren’t aware about recent controversy on Instagram about an influencer called @lifeofpujaa, She is from a village in West Bengal who posts about movies, religion, feminism and capitalism while wearing a normal saree and in modest surroundings.  The drama started when so called privilege influencers specifically Niharika Jain and Otherwarya questioned her "authenticity." The claim? She’s an "industry plant." They found it suspicious that a "village girl" has such high-quality edits and a curated aesthetic.  Pujaa’s brand deals with Netflix etc, a rural woman being financially savvy and "too polished" for her background is a red flag. 🚩  This is seated classism and gatekeeping by these influencers and their coterie. The elite are just mad they no longer have a monopoly on intellectualism and they have birth right of global cinema, literature and culture. If you’re mad that a woman from rural setup having better film recommendations. maybe the problem isn't her "authenticity." Maybe it's your insecurity.

Today is the death anniversary of Meena Kumari. Since she is buried in the same cemetery as my mother in Rehmatabad, Mazgaon, Bombay, I recite a fatiha for her too, whenever i go there. This is her grave. Her name give Mahjabeen urf Meena Kumari So peaceful in repose.

The world is being reordered by those who act and those who define. If India wishes to be counted among the latter, it must ensure that its silence does not speak louder than its convictions. We are living through a moment when the rules of the international system are being rewritten in real time. Assassinations of leaders, the killing of civilians, open assertions of force—these are no longer aberrations but instruments. In such a world, silence is not neutrality. It is read, interpreted, and often misread as consent. India has long claimed a distinctive space in global affairs—not as an appendage to power, but as a voice shaped by its own civilisational experience and its history of speaking for sovereignty, restraint, and balance. That voice mattered because it was consistent, even when inconvenient. Strategic autonomy cannot mean adjusting our language to the hierarchy of power. Restraint has its place. Calibration is necessary. But when fundamental questions arise—about sovereignty, about the limits of force, about the protection of civilians—India cannot afford to be silent. A moral compass is not an ornament of foreign policy. It is its direction. Without it, realism drifts into accommodation, and autonomy into ambiguity. This war has damaged India’s interests in almost every practical sense. It has raised costs, narrowed diplomatic room, stressed shipping, complicated Chabahar, and injected fresh instability into a region vital to India’s economy and external strategy. Even if New Delhi can cushion the blow, it cannot plausibly claim that the blow itself serves India. The deeper question is whether India is willing to say so with sufficient clarity.
