@radiodrummerguy @comoxvalleyrd Glacial melt is tiny over the year in terms of water inflows. And of course it has been getting less each year. We depend on rain and snowmelt from annual snowpack and manage as best we can. We’ll be okay, though some years will certainly not be ideal. We manage conservatively.

With the #BCStorm hitting the region and the forecasted water inflows peaking tomorrow from rain and snowmelt, we will be doubling the Puntledge River flow tonight thru Friday. Please stay away from the water flow. Typical fall season flood risk management ops. #ComoxValley

@radiodrummerguy @comoxvalleyrd Hi Bob, thanks! The amount of water that comes into the reservoir is substantial - tomorrow’s inflow would fill an Olympic-sized swimming pool every 20 seconds. Such a secondary reservoir would be massive & not feasible. It just goes into the ocean in a controlled way. Cheers

@comoxvalleyrd I'm curious about long-term water sustainability. Could a secondary reservoir help store much-needed (future) water? Do we desalinate? Glacial melt is sadly very finite. Is there a link to a long-term plan somewhere? How can people help? Thanks!
