No, Ian, you don't - which is why a huge number of hunters have gravitated toward 100% copper projectiles or some type of "bonded core" design that's supposed to limit jacket shedding. Remington Cor-Lokt has been around for a long time and compared to more modern ammo it's fairly outdated, as is .30-06 as a cartridge generally. It's not bonded. It's not really a great design when it comes to limiting lead exposure in the meat, but when it was designed we didn't have the modern manufacturing techniques we have today so you got what you got.
