La realidad de Puerto Rico Luego de observar la vista de Comisión Total, un proceso que, me atrevo a decir, muchos puertorriqueños desconocen en su alcance, y dejando a un lado el ruido de los llamados “expertos” en redes sociales, llegué a varias conclusiones: 1. El verdadero poder ejecutivo parece recaer, en gran medida, en el Sr. Domenech. La gobernadora, a mi juicio, difícilmente se desvinculará de esa influencia; en la práctica, él representa el poder detrás del trono. 2. De no ser por la presidencia del Senado en manos del Sr. Thomas Rivera Schatz, el cuerpo legislativo correría el riesgo de convertirse en un espacio caótico (tipo granja de animales que hay que procurar que se comporten a la altura del puesto que ocupan), sin distinción de afiliaciones partidistas. 3. Lo ocurrido se asemejó más a un ejercicio de exposición pública que a un proceso productivo; y quienes realmente cargan con sus efectos son las ramas Ejecutiva y Legislativa. Confío en que la Rama Judicial se mantenga al margen de este tipo de confrontaciones marcadas por luchas de poder. 4. La Sra, Jennifer Colón y el gobernador de facto, el Sr. Domenech, si tiene apoyo de algunos senadores tapaditos, pero realmente ayer fueron bastante obvios. La jornada de ayer dejó una impresión preocupante: todos los senadores, sin distinción, proyectaron más interés en aparentar dominio que en demostrarlo con sustancia. Lo único bueno fue que presenciáramos finalmente cómo el Senado cumplió con 8 horas de jornada laboral en un día, como hacemos el resto de los mortales. Es innegable que existen dos figuras que no cuentan con el favor de amplios sectores de la Isla, en gran parte por estilos percibidos como arrogantes. Sin embargo, a la luz de lo observado, podrían estar desempeñando un rol de contención dentro de sus respectivas esferas. Sin uno, el Senado podría convertirse en una granja sin cuidador; sin el otro, la Rama Ejecutiva enfrentaría serias dificultades operativas y básicamente con cerebros vacíos. Esta es mi apreciación desde la distancia, donde a veces es posible observar el panorama completo con mayor claridad. P.D. Para opinar con propiedad sobre el tema corporativo, conviene contar con conocimiento en derecho corporativo o experiencia ejecutiva. DEMOCRATS MINDSET Have you noticed how democrats suddenly “discover” problems that have existed for decades, only when it’s convenient to blame someone else? They turn everything into a “cause,” not to solve it, but to create victims and assign blame. Puerto Rico? After Hurricane María, they just blame Trump, but no real long-term solutions came from them. Meanwhile, the same democrats play politics with statehood every election cycle, just enough to secure votes in Florida, Texas, and Ohio. Cuba? People have been suffering for over 60 years, without food, electricity, or basic healthcare. But now, suddenly, it’s Trump’s fault? Deportations? These policies didn’t start yesterday. They’ve been in place since Clinton and expanded under Obama. The difference now? The outrage is selective. This pattern keeps repeating: Find a problem → Create a narrative → Assign blame → Offer no real solution. This argument conflates inconvenience with disenfranchisement. Married women → marriage certificates already link maiden and married names (used for SSA, passports, DMVs) Students → already provide ID/residency for registration today Seniors → existing accommodations (absentee, assistance, etc.) remain unchanged The bill addresses verification of citizenship, not access to voting.

@thetrueshelby If a name mismatch alone blocked participation, millions of women couldn’t get passports, Social Security updates, or driver’s licenses. But they do because marriage certificates resolve it.
