“If I can’t afford a home, who the hell can?” Registered nurse. No debt. 808 credit score. She did everything right — and STILL got priced out. That’s not a broken dream. That’s a RIGGED system.

@ElofsonJess @BrandonStraka Boomer here - yes, I did better than average taking advantage of those opportunities that came my way - while far from wealthy, I did own a home, two cars, had a wife and two kids by the time I hit 40 - it took all my attention to earn enough to get my kids launched as adults

I can’t believe how many comments we’re getting that people want to know where Gen X is… OK- We’ll do a Gen X debate!! We didn’t know!! What would you like to see: Gen X vs each other? Or vs. another generation?
Brandon Straka #WalkAway@BrandonStraka

@Jefferoni6 @ToddNidasqM @MatrixMysteries I wouldn’t move a stranger into the home where I and my child live, that’s wreckless; even if I could. House prices are 400k and above. So yay, 250k that o can’t use, even if i want to. Guess what the mortgage will be on 199k 1900 a month. Yeah ok, stop calling it complaining.

@DebSeller @RalphCapocci @dubsndoo I do not disrespect the older generation at all. Follow along with the context. It’s about, how you guys speak to US. That’s what the topic is, follow along. You say “work harder, stop complaining, have a better attitude, don’t spend money” all the while house prices are 600k.

@ranathan81 @RalphCapocci @dubsndoo Wow, what a shame your attitude towards the older generations is what it is. My parents didn't talk a lot about the depression era when they were kids but we asked. We had love and respect whether we were in or out of the home. We were raised differently I guess.

@DebSeller @RalphCapocci @dubsndoo No Deb, that’s a lie. Not only do we know because we were raised by boomers, we know because our parents talked about themselves growing up, incessantly. All they are talking about is themselves and all they ever care about is themselves.

@DebSeller @RalphCapocci @dubsndoo What kind of attitude do you suppose I should have Deb? Brush everything under the rug? Boomers are good at that too. Your parents were the ‘silent generation’ they spoke about themselves a lot too. “Kids are to be seen, not heard” remember that?

@ranathan81 @RalphCapocci @dubsndoo I'm a boomer and do not talk incessantly about growing up to any of my family unless they ask me questions. My parents "silent majority" used to talk about how they grew up as well but I never looked at them and thought they were selfish. You have the wrong attitude.

@RalphCapocci @dubsndoo Try again, we averaged $2.90 to $3.50 an hour in the mid to late 70's when most of us boomers were eligible to work full time. After saving $$ we were buying starter homes for 65K. The "silent majority" before the boomers averaged 12K and up for a house.

Boomers didn’t buy RVs that they couldn’t afford, we tented it. Boomers didn’t buy new cars, we bought used ones. Boomers didn’t spend six bucks for a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Boomers could hang all their clothes in a four foot closet. Boomers didn’t cry how tough their lives were, we fought through the tough times. Boomers have everything they have because they managed their money, didn’t squander it on frivolous things, and invested it in proven technologies and long term successful businesses. Boomers have zero fucks to give for whiners, fools, and couch potatoes.

@Rightanglenews I don't see both hands on the steering wheel! I see one hand on the wheel but her other hand is on her lap blocked by the steering wheel. It looks to me like she's got something in her hand but it's blocked by the wheel.

@SenorCurioATX @Abused_Virgin @tupacabra So because you don’t believe in it, or like it, it’s “obviously a metaphor”? Hmm i didn’t read anything like that, it read as an actual fact.

@Abused_Virgin @tupacabra So the obvious metaphor should be taken literally? Did you perhaps not understand that they were speaking of data centers and AI minds?

This is insane but I verified it’s true “So the guy at the post office just told me the salary ranges that they're posting for open jobs right now are lower than the salary he was hired at 20 years ago” 20 years ago (2005–2006) the starting pay was $15-$23 an hour Now in 2026, pay is $19-$22 an hour for entry level It’s not by much, but you could get a higher starting pay 20 years ago…
