@OldHeadHST @ANahmias16549 @EndWokeness He gets charged by a woke DA and smeared as a racist in the media. Maybe winds up unfairly imprisoned although at least that part was avoided when it actually happened

@OldHeadHST @ANahmias16549 @EndWokeness Problem is, if he tries to kill you and a white guy on the train comes up behind him and injures or kills him in the process of protecting you . . guess what happens next. We’ve all seen it.

@Aden_Yacobi @waves_falls @SockDem_ 1. Point taken but if it’s so powerful that it shifts behavior that much, it also means high cost of waiting. Just a thought. 2. Is that what you think is the *main* reason several major cities adopted quickly? They were forced by the state?

@randolphkwatson @waves_falls @SockDem_ 1. Because shared AV vehicles have the potential to drastically change commuting habits by inducing more driving. 2. States often preempt cities from not allowing AVs.

@JBlunt1018 Hey dude: as long as the public is picking up the tab for destitute Americans, we have a direct economic interest in the decision to bring in outside labor that will result in lower employment if Americans.

The anti–H-1B comments on my last post weren’t surprising. But the AUDACITY to pressure companies into hiring who you think they should hire? That’s not how this works. This is America. You don’t get to dictate someone else’s hiring decisions. Don’t like it? Build your own company. What I still don’t understand is the entitlement. It’s my company, I decide who to hire based on what’s best for the business. I’ll choose skill, work ethic, and value every single time. My responsibility is to the health of the company not someone else’s sense of entitlement. If that bothers you, compete.

@Sarhbear90 @1iam_mark_G @luxemiaa Fair but you’re also asking someone to give up their seat for you. I think a lot of problems would be avoided if the askers would figure out how to offer someone an even trade (aisle for aisle, or window for window). Every time I’m asked, it’s always middle seat for my aisle.

This woman on Instagram shared: I’m at the airport and there’s a family of 8 people on my flight with small children, I just overheard the dad say, “All of our seats are all over the place, no one is close to each other because I didn’t want to pay extra for assigned seats. We’ll switch around when we get on the plane.” Suffice it to say, I hate them....

@AngulusTerrarum @allie__voss Each side thinks the other side is like them. Men spend too much time on their looks, because they care about looks (in evaluating women). Women think men care about their degrees and careers, because that’s what they want in men.

The sooner you realize that women’s desires go way beyond what the internet describes as an “alpha Chad male” the sooner you will understand women Until then you’ll make weird posts like this about happy married couples

This is successful founder of Airtable Howie Liu & wife (she’s 3 years older). They have a great life together, new baby, and I’m sure he’s a loyal provider husband & dad. But she’s not genuinely sexually & romantically attracted to him. To deny this reality is cope.

@hillingdon531 @wine_018 You’re 100% right. Except they’re not smart enough to see it as a strategy where emotional blackmail overcomes the other party’s desire for a given . . they’re just so self-absorbed that it doesn’t even occur to them what others want

@wine_018 This is starting to sound like a scam operation where people with young children pay for the cheap tickets and then try to use emotional blackmail to get other peoples tickets that spent more for them. Am I wrong?

Boarding the plane, excited for that window seat you paid extra for 😌 You get to your row… and someone’s kid is already sitting there, crying their eyes out because “they want the window.” Sorry, not sorry. Move your child. I’m not giving up the seat I specifically bought just because tears are flowing. If the window was that important, you should’ve paid for it for your kid.

@1iam_mark_G @luxemiaa Unfortunately it doesnt always work like that. We paid for our seating for 7 of us to sit together, when our flights got delayed and changed we got screwed. This was 2 weeks ago. So pretty recent.

@luxemiaa That's an airline problem: they are in charge of making sure there are no unaccompanied infants. You should not have to pay extra to comply with airline regulations, those are included in the ticket. And they are happy you are blaming other customers instead of them.

@itsTseTse You’re basically right. In the extreme, I could understand someone turning down a job that’s *way* below their expected paycheck bc the new job will suck up time needed to search. But mostly you’re right. Keep the $ coming in.

@waves_falls @Aden_Yacobi @SockDem_ Not sure what you mean by metrics. It’s simply “you agree to abide by the same rules as human drivers, and pay the same fines, and we’ll let you operate”.

@waves_falls @Aden_Yacobi @SockDem_ Two questions: 1. Why is a study needed for the concerns you raiasedd? Sounds like a negotiation, not a study. 2. What’s your theory on why many other cities, every bit as sophisticated and left-leaning as DC, have been able to get Waymo approved long before DC?

@randolphkwatson @Aden_Yacobi @SockDem_ Determining the conduct, measurement of conduct, penalty of malfeasance, compensation of city and victim are all parts of what you need leverage for. Which for some reason, you seem to think is basically done. Just noticing.

@waves_falls @Aden_Yacobi @SockDem_ We don’t need *more* leverage. We already hold the main carrot, which is that these companies want to operate and start making money. So just have them agree to pay speeding tickets and whatever other bullshit the government types want, and move the fuck on. Like other cities did
