Our study @ImmunityCP uncovered rod-shaped microglia as key responder to cortical hyperactivity in TDP43 neurodegeneration. These specialized microglia align with dendrites, remodel synapses, and provide protection via TREM2 signaling. Thanks @Manling_Xie for the leading efforts!

I would like to dedicate our first Alzheimer's work to my grandfather, who passed away with AD. I regret not being able to be with him in his final moments. His experience inspired me to pursue my independent research to understand and combat AD.

Check out our newly published work @ScienceAdvances on microglia-neuron interaction in led by talented PhD student @ShunyiZhao_ @MayoGradSchool @CNG_UTHealth. Shunyi used in vivo 2p imaging to show that chemogenetic activation of Gi in microglia reduces neuronal synchronization.
