Let’s all work together to stop HPV. It can be prevented with the help of the #HPVVaccine. Time to protect our girls. Let’s erase #CervicalCancer from the Indian subcontinent.. @MoHFW_INDIA

Almost all cervical cancers are caused by persistent high-risk HPV. The good news? We can prevent it with vaccination. Protect your daughters, early-protection lasts for years. #HPVVaccine #Cervicalcancer (Source: CDC Fact Sheet) @MoHFW_INDIA @ICMRDELHI

Cervical cancer is the 2nd most common cause of cancer related deaths in Indian women. Annually we are losing 75000 women in India to a potentially preventable disease. @MoHFW_INDIA is rolling out the HPV vaccine program for 14 yr old girls. A huge step in the right direction!

Postdoc time is often harder than PhD. You have little time. Competition is higher. And you MUST stand out. + Your contract may end any moment. + Your salary is often low (for your age/education). + You’ve just relocated and prepare to relocate again. No wonder that Max Planck Society survey showed that depression and anxiety of postdocs is rising. Interestingly, Max Planck Institutes have substantial internal funding. So, in theory there should be less pressure to apply for grants, and everyone should be enjoying science. And yet the pressure on postdocs is immense. 📍 Many postdocs want to stay in academia. They want to apply for faculty positions or become senior scientists. Some of them achieve it. Others don’t. ❗️Why things don’t work out: In a recent workshop Q&A session, I discussed various scenarios and behind-the-scenes processes that PhD students should keep in mind if they’re considering a postdoc: “Postdocs: Competition, Hardship and Faculty Positions” Watch it on here: youtu.be/YJm9pyb5xwY (I’ll appreciate if you ‘like’ this video - you will GREATLY help it reach more students.)

A few years before Anfinsen's Nobel Prize-winning protein folding experiment, Lisa Steiner, a medical student working with Fred Richards at Yale University, essentially performed the same experiment (in 1956), which remained hidden in Steiner's MD thesis. doi.org/10.1016/j.cell…

Fairchild founder Robert Noyce came to Bharat in 1964. License permit raj of congress did not allow setting up a semiconductor plant. Went to HongKong. Then founded Intel. Rest is history. Intel once again tried to set up a semiconductor unit in Bharat in 2005-06. Once again it was not allowed because of the policy paralysis of UPA regime. Semiconductor Laboratory, Mohali works at lab scale. A commercial scale silicon fab works at 20,000-40,000 wafer-starts per month. We are building a silicon fab at 50,000 wafer-starts per month capacity. Six semiconductor units (one fab and five ATMP) are at different stages of planning, construction and execution. Four more (one silicon carbide fab and three ATMP including most advanced packaging unit) approved last week. Entire ecosystem - Design, Fabrication, Packaging, equipment, chemicals, gases - taking shape in Bharat. Two of the largest equipment manufacturers - Applied Materials and Lam Research - are setting up their design, production and validation facilities in Bharat. Why didn’t Congress develop semiconductor industry in Bharat despite our country having requisite talent? @Jairam_Ramesh ji
