Wrapping up a high yield Neurocritical Care Review. Thank you @docmartin22 for coordinating and good luck to everyone taking the test! Just remember to think like a neurologist when doing those trauma questions. #AAST2022 #NeuroCriticalCare

Linked below is a provocative review of the original NINDS trial for thrombolysis in acute stroke
What if randomization errors underlie one of the most "positive" trials?
My 2018 opinion concluded too strongly, but there is still massive uncertainty medscape.com/viewarticle/89…

A paper published in #BMCMedResMethodol found a high risk of selection bias in the NINDS rt-PA Stroke Study and recommends that treatment decisions based on the NINDS rt-PA Stroke Study should be done cautiously. bit.ly/3Qs8eiH

@Jorge_Ortiz_G ⓘ This claim about t-PA is disputed by multiple sources.
English

NINDS trial was published 25 years ago. The t-PA revolutioned the stroke treatment. A Milestone in the history of Neurology. Today, t-PA is used with or without mechanical thrombectomy. Stroke is more treatable than ever, but time is crucial, “TIME IS BRAIN” #Neurology #Stroke

@arielhelwani @marc_raimondi What kind of cognitive or neurological testing do MMA fighters undergo to be cleared for a fight? Matt Hughes, BJ Penn, Mirko Cro Crop, and many more fighters have been in the new with stories of behavior that is very suspicious for an underlying neurodegenerative disorder.
English

Spoke with @marc_raimondi on today’s episode of The MMA Reporters about Maxim Dadashev’s death. Unspeakable tragedies like this force us all to examine our part in combat sports, and I hope among the many lessons learned is to always respect the fighters. #episodeGuid=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.espn.com%2Fespnradio%2Fpodcast%3Fid%3D27251389" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/ari…
