@OleTimeHardball I think I’ll just add Mickey Mantle to any single hitter related question.
His certainly fits here! 😅👍

Today @SenateGOP, along with the Democrat who put country before political ideology, confirmed @POTUS's nominee Kevin Warsh as the next Chairman of the @FederalReserve. Chairman Warsh will usher in a new day at an institution that is in need of accountability, sound policy guidance, and the renewed sense of purpose to help guide our economy. His chairmanship opens the door and lays the groundwork for every American family to build and grow in the world's greatest economy.

🚨: Speaker Johnson has just put the SAVE AMERICA ACT on the schedule for a floor vote next week
REP. CHIP ROY: "We're calling on Leader Thune to change the filibuster and to force what we call a 'talking filibuster' so that we can FORCE a vote on the Senate floor!"
It will ensure
1- Voter ID
2- Citizenship requirement in elections
LET'S GET IT PASSED, send it to Thune! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Do you firmly support this?
A. Huge Yes
B. No
IF Yes, Give me a THUMBS-UP👍!!

This is completely false and he knows it.
TheBlaze@theblaze
Leader Thune says there's nothing more he can do to pass the Save America Act: "We don't have the votes to get rid of the filibuster. We had a very spirited debate. I made more speeches on the floor in support of the SAVE Act than any other senator."
English

@RepLuna He needs a paradigm shift; back to being a regular Senator. cc: @SenTedCruz - time to step up. You would be a fantastic Majority Leader! Just need 4 more to agree to bring it to a vote, correct?

@OleTimeHardball Mantle (two of my all time favs going after each other)

@TracesofTexas How about the men’s suits for $39.00 sign?
Ironically, we went there in 1963 for a state men’s fast pitch tournament; I was 10.
That trip included driving our cars across the border into Juarez and going to some shops there and walking the sidewalks. A little different today. 😅

The Speaker who literally needs Democrats to keep himself in power is supporting Mayes Middleton.
If you’re supporting Mayes over Chip Roy at this point, it’s an IQ test, and you’re failing.
Wade Miller@WadeMiller
This is all you need to know in Texas… the swamp speaker who kills and waters down all the Republican priorities is endorsing Mayes, because he knows Mayes will play the game and do nothing about it. Seriously folks, if you live in Texas get out and vote for Chip Roy!

@TracesofTexas Wow! You answered my question on having to let it burn itself out. Literally zero technology available to put it out. So admire our forefathers for what all they had to deal with in the day. #Texas

A fire at the Spindletop oilfield, 1902. This was taken by well-known Port Arthur photographer Frank Trost, who had come to Port Arthur in 1895 from Kansas City, Missouri, where he had been involved in real estate. He opened a photography studio on Procter Street and turned his hobby into a successful business.
On January 10, 1901, history came calling on Frank Trost, when he was notified of the events at Spindletop, just south of Beaumont. With his unwieldy camera equipment in tow, he managed to take at least one photograph of the gushing oil before sundown. Photographic methods were still in their infancy, so the image was created with a glass negative that Trost manufactured in his studio. It was THE photo of Spindletop, not this one, which was taken a year later, but the one showing the oil gushing out of the top of the rig like a fountain. The photo appeared in countless newspapers all over the United States and in some foreign countries. It was in such demand that Trost made as many as 250 prints per day and sold them as quickly as they were printed.
I wonder how long this burned before it burned itself out.
