It's been a while since I wrote this, but I'm excited to share it today! 😊 BIG Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙏 . ( I gave it a title with the help of AI ;) ) Saving Lives Through Leadership: My 💛 Lifebox Story 💛 ... Six years (and two months ago, to be exact) I embarked on a journey with Lifebox that has been nothing short of transformative (it was through an introduction by @abebesurg to our incredible CEO @KrisTorgeson ). What began as a three-day consultancy role quickly evolved into a path of growth, challenges, and incredible achievements. Today, I am proud to stand as a senior leadership member, managing the East and Southern Africa region, and driving our mission to save lives through safer surgery and anesthesia. My journey with Lifebox has been marked by a series of exciting transitions (looking back, it still excites me). From my initial role as a consultant, I took on the responsibility of managing the Ethiopia office, where I honed my leadership skills and navigated the complexities of driving impact in a dynamic environment. As my expertise grew, so did my scope of influence, and I soon found myself at the helm of the East Africa region. This expansion brought new challenges and opportunities, allowing me to forge strong partnerships, manage diverse teams, and implement initiatives that have left a lasting impact on countless lives ( please check our website and judge it for yourself lifebox.org ). Now, as the East and Southern Africa head of programs , I am humbled by the trust placed in me to lead our efforts across an even wider geography. Managing people, creating and strengthening partnerships, and effectively stewarding our donor relationships have become crucial parts of my role. I am constantly inspired by the dedication and passion of all Lifeboxérs Lifebox, and I strive to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and strong commitment to our mission. As I reflect on the past six years, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities I have had to grow both personally and professionally (very proud 💪 ). The journey from consultant to senior leadership has been a testament to the power of perseverance, adaptability, and a firm belief in the work we do.
