@WandrMe I think it's "had", not "has". Repeated attempts to order yielded a broken page and finally the message "Experience deleted."

@PointChaser @garyleff As you later corrected, STS is about 50 miles from Napa…but during weekends and harvest season, much longer drive time than from CCR. And “Concord/Napa” certainly better than RyanAir calling Beauvais “Paris - Beauvais,” or Girona as “Barcelona.”

@garyleff There should be some boundaries around that. OAK as “sf bay” sort of makes sense since it’s across the bay from sfo. Charles Schulz (STS) is 20 minutes from Napa and could be named after the city. But CCR is way off

JSX bizarrely classifies Buchanan Airfield (CCR) as “Concord/Napa”’when those cities are nearly an hour apart and not even in the same county.

@garyleff @SouthwestAir @TWU556 @AmericanAir @APFAunity Maybe WN mgmt is making a strategic play, knowing AA is In worse financial position. So even if WN labor cost is higher with retro pay, if it squeezes AA into matching, may create WN opportunities to limit AA growth. Smart.

Flight attendants at @SouthwestAir got retro pay in their deal. I admit I am surprised to see an average of nearly $20,000 per employee as a ratification bonus. @TWU556 gave cabin crew at @AmericanAir @APFAunity a nice boost in their negotiations.

@garyleff @KerrPoints Agree that would be a nice-to-have, but as an alternative, why wouldn’t you just use your mobile wallet (Apple Pay or G Pay)?

@KerrPoints tbh the #1 reason I pull out a card other than Bilt is lack of tap to pay

What’s the #1 thing you want added to Bilt? And nope, won’t be a sign up bonus as losing millions on customer acquisition isn’t a business model we have any interest in executing.

@steve_hoge @nytimes @bxchen That being said, I am the type of traveler who makes very few calls when international; data usage is my main concern, and for me, FI absolutely wins from that perspective. Of course, if one is primarily a “phone call person” than a “data person,” the value prop may be different.

@steve_hoge @nytimes @bxchen I suppose it depends upon one’s definition of “quite expensive” vs “priced fairly,” juxtaposed against what legacy carriers charge all-in, and also comparing the the time/cost value of getting a new SIM (e or physical), and not using one’s primary phone number.

As vacation season looms, now is as good a time as ever to become familiar with the eSIM, the digital version of the SIM card that carries your phone number. The technology is a boon for travelers, our correspondent @bxchen writes. nyti.ms/3ZbAc5s

@nytimes @bxchen Alternative to eSIMs & physical SIMs altogether: If one lives in an area where Google Fi (operating on the backbone of TMob in the US) service is sufficient, use Fi when abroad. No roaming fees or hassle. Data is priced per usage @ same rates as in the US calls priced fairly.

@pizzainmotion @WandrMe @tebfunk I *almost* feel like this may be the appropriate time to pull out those pix of Seth and me at FTU Seattle and also at office hours on the High Line from several years ago.

@zlwichter @mommypoints @usatodaytravel I guess I have a reputation for spontaneity within the community 🤷🏽‍♂️ What, people don’t “plan” trips to the Panama Canal while driving down the freeway, then change directions to the airport, or decide to go to Machu Picchu 6 days beforehand? 😛 Thanks for the plug @mommypoints

Are you someone who likes to travel spontaneously (and don't write about doing it for a living)? I'd love to talk to you when you're booking your next close-in trip for a @usatodaytravel story!
