The first Canada match in Toronto is 4 weeks from Friday. I’m told at least 3500-4000 tickets are still unsold. Canada Soccer put tickets for all 3 Group matches in all 3 price categories on sale today. My friend sent me a screenshot after logging on to examine the prices.
I get the once-in-lifetime value of this, I truly do - but there’s a been a clear combination of gouging, AND miscalculating the market. They’ve been unable to sell 45K tickets in Toronto/55K in VAN. Imagine if it was 70K+, like most of the NFL stadiums. The public will always set the price in the modern marketplace - not the other way around.
