@SA021977 Ya that’s what I’m reading too. Is it that difficult to adjust our refining to sweet crude?

Serious question. We are energy independent. We always brag about being a net *exporter of oil. Why can we not leave the global market and just produce our own oil and keep it here. Maybe sell the excess. We never buy oil again. 🤔

We’re a net exporter yes, but our refineries process imported heavy sour crude They weren’t made to process the sweet light from Texas oilfields, which is exported instead Our large volume of domestic production doesn’t mean we don’t fundamentally require imported oil

Energy Secretary Chris Wright: "Fortunately, the US produces more oil than we can consume -- we're a net oil exporter. So overall for the US economy, this isn't bad news."
