I have paid over $10B in taxes in a single year, more than anyone in history. If I exercise and sell stock options, the combined federal and state income tax is ~45% (I still pay California taxes for every day I spend there). Then there is another 40% tax paid on my estate when I die. Overall, I will probably end up paying trillions in taxes.

What punishment do you want, and for which rule?
If the speaker threatened students, name the threat.
If he broke university policy, name the policy.
If his offense was saying things some students hated, then the issue is power deciding which views may be heard.
A public official should know the difference. The First Amendment does not exist to protect agreeable speech at polite events. It exists for the speech that makes institutions uncomfortable.
A university that cannot host one controversial speaker without demanding repercussions is teaching students that adulthood means calling authority when they lose an argument.
Shame on you.

What happened at the University of Michigan is bigger than one speaker and it deserves more than an apology. It’s well known Michigan has a large Jewish student body. The administration knew the speaker’s record and still handed him the mic—leaving those students isolated and targeted. Protests on campus have repeatedly crossed the line: encampments, disrupted ceremonies, demonstrations at officials’ homes, clashes with police. The first amendment must be protected but it doesn’t absolve anyone of consequences. Universities have deep culture problems they must address. If they don’t, they should face repercussions.

A newly released video shows two men attacking a 77-year-old man who was walking down the street in downtown Seattle last month. The incident was captured by the city's Real Time Crime Center surveillance cameras, which monitor public areas that have been identified as crime hot spots. In the video, the victim is seen walking slowly southbound on Third Avenue, approaching a pharmacy at the corner of Pike Street. Without any prior interaction, two men shove the man to the ground and punch him, the video shows. They are then seen walking away from the man, who is left hunched over on the ground as bystanders walk past him. None of the witnesses to the attack approached or offered assistance to the man as he remained on the ground.
