@rebhalp @BBCNews My parents did the same with me. I still take packed lunches or picnics when going out for day trips, unless it's a special occasion.

@AshValeCommuter @BBCNews When my children were small we always took packed lunches on days out (and tried to do cheap/free activities, not all days out have to be expensive).

@BBCNews I have no sympathy with anyone who willingly pays £1.65 for crisps or £4.90 for juice, then complains about the price. Just take snacks and cold drinks with you from home. E.g. 30 bags are crisps are £3.99 in Aldi.

@EmmaJanesLife They are! I’m a short walk from the park, although I don’t go there as often as I should.

@rebhalp @comicrelief This one rather caught me off guard! I’m looking forward to smoother sailing, but I think I’ll miss these versions of them when they’re older.

Thanks to @comicrelief for their design your own red noses this year. Both my kids have had meltdowns this evening because they’ve smudged their designs. 😂

@jamiebsmith @Starlink I used it recently on an Air Baltic flight, it was very good.

Other big news is that @Starlink has arrived in the UAE delivering more options for connectivity. Definitely something I’ll be considering.

@BritToSwiss It's high on my list of places to go, haven't been to Poland yet.

We really enjoyed a short break in Warsaw. We were lucky with the weather too. It’s a great, walkable city with some great food.

Nice day with family in Worthing. Had to get rail replacement bus from Brighton, interesting going through some different areas. Saw a sushi seagull.

@mark395625 We had to get bus from Brighton to Worthing, it was actually quite interesting as went through some areas I didn’t know, but made journey much longer.

So I arrived at Portsmouth and Southsea at 1025. RRBS to Havant, missed the 1110 by a whisker. 1211 making extra stops so missed the 1233 at Chichester. Into Vic and 2.5 hours of travel to go. Remind me about these mad weekend adventures again!

@AshValeCommuter I’ve been thinking of going to Ljubljana but did wonder if it’s too touristy.

Slovenia was brilliant, especially Lake Bled. But think I spent too long in Ljubljana (which seems to be highly tourist centric now) and not long enough in the beautiful countryside!

@AshValeCommuter It’s good for shopping, and definitely good for different types of food, there are also several East European supermarkets.

@rebhalp I actually don't think I've ever been into Crawley town centre. Will have to give it a try next time I'm nearby.

The best thing about arriving into Gatwick Airport is going to the Sainsbury's in Crawley. They have so many world foods and spices that my local branch doesn't stock.

@SimonCalder Missed it but have just watched it back, exciting to see Jakarta by night.

@consulthismusic My daughter even managed to get back late at night from an event at Oxford easily - coach to Gatwick then bus home.

@rebhalp Was a trek back then. Went to see The Prodigy in Brixton in 96 and we walked to Vauxhall to get a bus back to Kingston. By the time I got home it was 3 hours later. We had tickets to see The Chemical Brothers a fortnight later again in Brixton but it was a no no!

Used to think nothing of waiting forever for a nightbus after a night out clubbing in London. Trafalgar Sq pick up. Then a 40 min walk the other end of the journey.

@consulthismusic I lived in Ewell, if I was feeling extravagant I’d get the night bus to South Wimbledon and get a taxi from the taxi office next to the bus stop there. Ironically it’s actually much easier get back at night from London to Crawley where I live now.

@rebhalp Probably shared a bus once! Kingston bus garage was my final stop. Then I'd walk to Thames Ditton. Seemed like only 1 a night back then!
