@SocialNomadRach Also I don’t know any Christian who say this. Like the whole point is that they want you to believe in what they do and share in their merriness.

@AngloSerb @BeanSlushiee Did most people before Jesus go on random murder sprees because they thought it was right?

@BeanSlushiee Because they did. You’re concept of morality comes from their values and people being bad or false Christians doesn’t change that. I mean unless you think it’s normal to marry 9 year olds. walkfree.org/news/2025/iraq…

@zembyl @Birdtrap_ @HeapsofSteam @ShitpostRock benefits to religious doctrine that’s even acknowledged in his post. Religious people make these arguments because it’s their religion getting “dunked on” it’s not “out of the blue” at all.

@zembyl @Birdtrap_ @HeapsofSteam @ShitpostRock In fact he proves his own post wrong. Even his first statement is wrong it’s not out of the blue these people attack Christianity all the time because they’re not atheist their antitheist. And what’s with the hate anyway even from an actual atheistic perspective there are

The best logical fallacy to give an atheist when discussing morals is to ask them why it's morally wrong to have intercourse with roadkill It's dead it will not feel anything, nobody will know and there are no victims If you ask a Christian or Buddhist why it's morally wrong, they will tell you it's because the body retains inherent dignity as part of God's creation (or the sacred flow of life), and desecrating it violates divine/natural order, harms your soul/karma, and shows disrespect, even if no one feels it or knows An atheistic worldview of this question taken to its extreme, concludes that intercourse with roadkill is tantamount to masturbation and nothing more

My dog knows it's wrong to bite and even when he accidentally hurts me by jumping on me he immediately jumps into my lap to apologize because he knew it was wrong Is my dog a Christian?

Missing the point that your concept of "decent human being" is purely cultural, and if you live in the west is a direct result of norms created by Christian morality.

@TravisRomo23 @PenguReborn But make no mistake it wasn’t people “moral good” that freed the slaves either. Theirs a lot of factors that come it to it but the simplest answer is just political power.

@TravisRomo23 @PenguReborn You are correct the Bible despite what many Christian will tell you does not condemn slavery nor genocide what it does do however is tell when and in what form it is and is not appropriate and acceptable. It makes very clear where the lines are.

@TravisRomo23 @Eggfucker21 @PenguReborn That’s a wild assumption and just wrong. You can contribute it to Stockholm syndrome or just fear of change but some slaves were very outspoken about preferring their current circumstances. Thats not say anything on the morality of it just that asking a slave would get different

@TravisRomo23 @PenguReborn So we’re just going to ignore the rest of the world in this scenario or that fact that outside of Christianity slavery is still practiced. Also failing to apply Christ values to one’s life is does not change the fact that the moral bar was set by those beliefs

@PenguReborn We will just agree to disagree because christian society has been around, it took them a long time to figure out slavery and genocide are bad. Seems to me something else is responsible for the change

@bee_fumo What’s interesting about this is that as Christian belief wanes abortion becomes not only more “acceptable” but advocated for and encouraged

Prior to Christianity becoming mainstream, it was common for both Romans and Greeks to commit infanticide of deformed, unwanted, or "excess" infants through a practice called exposure. They would leave or throw the baby away , in the wilderness, at a temple, or on a dung pile. Sometimes prostitutes would rescue and raise them, but the practice was widely accepted and even advocated by leading philosophers of the time: Aristotle, Plato, and Lycurgus. In Rome specifically, it was uncommon to raise more than one daughter. Female infants were frequently exposed. This was neither a Christian nor a Jewish practice. One of the ways the early Christian community grew was by actively rescuing and raising these abandoned children. Christians became widely known for their refusal to participate in infanticide and for taking in the unwanted. Starting with Emperor Constantine the Great, reforms were introduced that gradually ended the practice of exposure and infanticide.

@Raver76021 @Rafcula @HeapsofSteam @ShitpostRock They don’t go after any other religion other than Judaism. Ironically they’re all proven my point. They hate Christianity not Theism. These people aren’t atheist and probably never have been they’re antitheist more specifically anti-Abrahamic and I know Islam is technically

@765Tet What he’s saying he you need some kind of belief to anchor your character on even if it’s just willpower and stubbornness people need a moral post that’s steadfast. Otherwise everything just boils down to preference

I found out yesterday the journalist who mapped the world literacy rates didn't know what a conjunction is and thought how someone uses English and their comprehension of English are the same thing. His other articles are public humiliations with .zip files of his son's music
