@JamesBlunt Ahh The Shed in Verbier. The spicy margaritas are great too.

@flybymike Our new parking at FRA is interesting. Feels like you’ve been sent to the naughty step 🤣

@flybymike I said the same thing when it appeared on the briefing. Siegerland. Uncontrolled Aerodrome. “Park anywhere you like” was the taxi instruction. 🤣
It’s near Frankfurt.

I have just watched this video of an engine failure in a 172? from Australia. I found myself thinking “go on…go on” as the shadow of the aircraft gets bigger on the buildings below….stretching that glide. It seems that the last second decision to go for the taxiway was the right one…resulting in a safe outcome. What’s your thoughts on this approach and what would you have done differently? I have some thoughts but let’s see what you think.

@scottiebateman 2/2.
They took off. It was a B737 and it was only 1/3 full.
Just how reasonably would I have been treated in Moscow? Sure, we lived that day.
Yes the B737 can depart with ice on the wing but only if it is contained within a marked area. No marked area. (Close to it tho’).

@scottiebateman Easier said than done. I was on a Transaero flight from
Moscow to London many years ago and there was ice on the wing around the nacelle.
I alerted the cabin crew and she told me that the pilots had checked the controls.
I assumed they would remote de ice, nope, 1/2

My advice. If you’re on an airliner that has snow covered wings like this and they’re not deicing. Get off. I could cite dozens of aircraft who haven’t been so lucky and crashed as a result. Pilot colleagues what do you think ? Am I being too precious? twitter.com/AeroMarcos320/…
