Every single day, garbage is being burnt in many vacant sites around Chikkalsandra, Arehalli and Padmanabhanagar areas. While wet waste is cleared off, mounds of other waste is burnt leading to heavy pollution @GBAChiefComm @GBA_office

The MLA’s statement is wrong. And frankly, not surprising. First, it exposes their priorities. At a time when real issues of the state demand attention, raising something like this in the Assembly is itself telling. And if the Speaker chooses to act on it, it diminishes the dignity of the Vidhan Soudha itself. Now, let’s ask the basic question. Why should the KSCA, or any sports body, give free tickets to MLAs? Why should they “owe” them anything? This is plain entitlement. Feudal thinking. An MLA demanding free tickets, a separate gallery, and refusing to sit with the public reveals their belief that they are somehow above the very people they represent. That is the problem. If citizens have to buy tickets, so should MLAs. Simple. Unless we call this out clearly, we will keep normalising a culture of entitlement. And that is the opposite of what a modern, equal, democratic society should stand for. This is wrong. It must be opposed.

“We are VIPs, We Cannot Stand in Queues: KSCA Should Give 5 Tickets to Each MLA and Minister of Karnataka,” says Congress MLA Vijayananda Kashappanavar Bengaluru Congress MLA Vijayananda Kashappanavar has strongly criticized the Karnataka State Cricket Association (#KSCA) for denying tickets to legislators and ministers for the upcoming Indian Premier League (#IPL) matches starting March 28. Speaking to reporters, Kashappanavar said that despite availing government facilities such as security, KSCA has failed to show respect to elected representatives. “They are not issuing tickets to MLAs, ministers, or their families. Instead, they are asking people to book online. We all know how online booking works,it leads to black marketing. Tickets worth ₹5,000 are being sold for ₹35,000,” he alleged. The MLA demanded that at least five tickets be allotted to each legislator along with separate seating arrangements. “We are VIPs; we cannot stand in queues. Last time, we were made to sit in the general gallery with the public. This should not happen again,” he said, adding that the issue has been raised in the Assembly and taken up with the Speaker. Kashappanavar further revealed that the Deputy Chief Minister has assured legislators of resolving the matter by arranging tickets and ensuring proper seating. On the Home Minister’s meeting with KSCA, Kashappanavar dismissed claims of effective guidelines being issued. “There are no proper guidelines. KSCA has become too powerful because IPL matches are happening. They are collecting money and enjoying it. If this continues, we will fight against it,” he warned. @INCKarnataka @BJP4Karnataka @BCCI @IPL @RCBTweets

Despite High court ban on banners like these after the death of a girl trying to cross the road, many are seen flouting norms. One such at a very risky U turn near Ittamadu junction on ORR on Monday #JDS #highcourt #bbmp #GBA

It's Jamia again! Meet Dr. Riyazuddin. He is an Associate Professor at Jamia Millia Islamia, Polytechnic. Wondering what he does? Teaching! And this is how he teaches. On January 16, he attacked a tribal man named Ram Phool Meena, calling him "Meena Kamina, Kaffir". When the victim complained, he said: "Tum saale Adivasi jangli ho, Musalmanon ke idare mein rehkar mere khilaaf shikayat karne ki jurrat kaise ki?" Not only this, he thrashed him, breaking his mouth. With repeated targeting of Hindus on campus, this case is not new. I have previously reported a Dalit man being harassed, a divyang person being asked to convert with the remark "Hijab pehenne se Noor aata hai", and now this tribal man. And merely for reporting this, me and my organisation is facing cases. The OSD claims everything is fine and that a "zero tolerance policy" will be implemented against discrimination and forced conversion, but back-to-back incidents suggest something entirely different. The only question that remains: How fair is it to fund an institution with government money when it claims to be a minority institution, calls itself "Musalmanon ka idara", and apparently has no place for Hindus? @EduMinOfIndia Watch, and read my detailed report in the next tweet:

What was supposed to be state celebrations is soon turning out to be a state embarrassment. Why were there so many ppl on the stage at a high profile place like Vidhana Soudha in the first place? It was not some street side function. #RCB #congress @DrparameshwaraK @DKShivakumar
