#JustIn: ICICI Bank, in collaboration with Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), announced on June 12, 2025, the commencement of the construction of a new building at the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (HBCH&RC) in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. With a commitment of over ₹550 crore, the Bank is funding the construction of a state-of-the-art facility spanning nearly 3.9 lakh square feet, equipped with cutting-edge medical technology. Once operational, the eight-storied new building — ICICI Foundation Block for Child and Blood Cancer — will serve 3,000 patients annually. Currently, HBCH&RC has a capacity of handling 6,200 patients annually. Designed as one of the largest specialised cancer facilities in eastern India, the new building will house over 215 beds. @ICICIFoundation for Inclusive Growth, the CSR arm of ICICI Bank, will oversee its implementation. The ICICI Foundation Child and Blood Cancer Block at Visakhapatnam will offer comprehensive treatment options, including: 🔸Intensive chemotherapy, bone marrow transplantation, and advanced radiation therapy 🔸High-end medical imaging and diagnostics, including three LINACs*, MRI, and CVT-PET scans 🔸14 BMT (Bone Marrow Transplant) Rooms, 14 ICUs, 5 Operating theatres *Linear Accelerator (LINAC) targets radiation at the cancer cells with accuracy, sparing the adjoining healthy tissues. The support is in line with the Bank’s CSR focus for augmenting healthcare infrastructure in the country. As a larger commitment of ₹1,800 crore, the Bank has partnered with the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) to setup three state-of-the-art blocks at its centres in Visakhapatnam, Navi Mumbai and New Chandigarh. These three blocks combined will span over an area of 10.7 lakh square feet and will be equipped with over 555 beds and advanced medical infrastructure.
