The IAF has let the SU fleet rot. Even if you abandon Rafale dreams now the SU fleet are obsolete with not even a contract existing to upgrade a single airframe

F3R's ISE is not even 5yrs old btw for which IAF gladly paid $1.7B & now we should upgrade then to F4 for a premium cost while 260 Su-30s fly on PESA Radars.

Just how India got US level billionaires with less than 1/8th of US GDP. IAF is also spending like US airforce. Its not like they have 250+ ageing Su-30MKIs that will do bulk of war fighting if balloon goes up next month or next year.

@raptor1991007 @Defencematrix1 Within a certain info bubble it's possible, but the problem is russian electronic aren't as powerful or sophisticated enough. Chines have been working on it, their awacs guide their PL missiles. Again, someone needs to think out of the box, built technology..

@Defencematrix1 I think guiding Air-to-Air Missiles with targeting data from Ground based radars is not possible because of the latency issue, although other info can be passed regarding the target through the datalink which is already present with Chinese Airforce jets like Su35 + Ground radars

S-400 connected with IACCS, which is networked with Su 30MKI, can be a game changer. Imagine 40N6 getting guidance from Su 30MKI. It is complex but India should work with Russia to make this happen before giving additional S-400 orders.
