Less watching of a game by players has hurt players tremendously. I saw how front offices relied on the analytical data at the start of the analytical age & how it hurt players. It has its benefits if used right.

@FoulTerritoryTV I've been saying that for years. Never saw it work effectively anywhere in professional baseball. There are 11 or more coaches on teams in ML today. Overall, there is more staff than players on teams. Many on staff lack baseball experience or knowledge of gm. A big waste of $$$.

Eric Chavez says he'll never do the co-hitting coaches thing ever again. "You cannot have two head hitting coaches. Players get confused when there are multiple voices."

@JasonLaCanfora If this is true, it shows just how soft mentally some pitchers are when they blame someone else for their poor performances. Players spend less time watching gms now. Spend some time watching & explaining situations to rookie players during a gm. They really need it in this era.

Did barely average Dean Kremer try to blame his catcher for being horseshit again last night? Throw any 20 year olds under the bus? Nobody he could show up this time while a bad lineup destroyed his fading stuff again? That's the shithole Mike Elias baseball culture for you!

@shegone03 There are very few real baseball, knowledgeable people in gm now as scouts, coaches & many front office personnel. They have been eliminated from todays gm. Watching players play today, it's not their fault b/c of their lack of fundamentals & knowledge of how to play & act.

@shegone03 Most scouts now are non baseball people with little or no playing or coaching experience. Some hardly any professional knowledge of gm. Sitting around some scouts at gms & what they say is outrageous & ridiculous. I have seen some leave after a pitcher didn't throw at 95 or up

Rarely saw this happen, but if it did, somebody said sometime & if you didn't like it, you would have to fight one or more people. It was not tolerated.Pride in gm & winning

I know this lack of effort doesn’t bother the NEW @MLB fans who only care if they win their $5 parlay but it does bother us retired @MLBPAA guys who fought for the future generations to make more money. So many things have changed in this game over the last decade or 2. I know some of the people, especially the ones that played & now announce gms, know a lot of things that have to say is wrong. If they don't, they will get fired.

@WesClements22 @TheWARmonger_ @notgaetti Simple answer: Pitchers today throw way harder & have much greater movement on their pitches. Which is why it's harder to hit than it ever has been before.

@SportsGrouch @BBGreatMoments The players would need a day off if they had to take infield & outfield before a game. Catchers rarely warm up pitchers. Bullpen Catchers do that. Players are better conditioned but need more days off. That's hard to understand. If it's hot & humid, they may need an extra day

@BBGreatMoments Getting to the park when it opened to watch both teams take actual BP. Pitchers first, non starters and then the starting lineup in order. After removing the screens and batting cage both teams taking full infield and outfield.

Wanted you to put your arm around them & speak in a low-key manner to see what was bothering them, regardless of how many mental or physical mistakes they made.

What used to be unacceptable on a @MLB baseball field is somehow OK today. I also saw Pete Alonso, who I love, pop out to right field and get about 1/2 way to 1st base. Do they need to bring Greenies back? Why don’t these guys hustle anymore? Why don’t the Managers and coaches demand more effort? @shegone03 You see this at the minor league level too much. Their are some coaches & managers at the minor league & some at the independent level that are very good at teaching all aspects of the gm but are not wanted in ML organizations. It's a shame.

They don’t have the veterans to teach these kids like we did. It’s the blind leading the blind! And when the Super Stars are the worst offenders it sets a terrible example for the younger players. I know I’m not telling you something you don’t know. #shegone
