We updated our style for telephone numbers in 2024 to drop parentheses. We now recommend the form: 212-621-1500. For international numbers use 011 (from the United States), the country code, the city code and the telephone number: 011-44-20-7535-1515. Use hyphens, not periods. No parentheses. The form for toll-free numbers: 800-111-1000. If extension numbers are needed, use a comma to separate the main number from the extension: 212-621-1500, Ext. 2.

@choppertoo @colinwalker79 @theipaper I’m dead against them . I’ve driven and ridden in several of them . Horrible experiences all of them . I would never buy or lease one and won’t be shamed into doing so by any amount of aggressive marketing.

Some quality EV misinformation in @theipaper I'm afraid When asked 'is now the time to buy an EV', the person who says 'no' bases her argument on problems she encountered with her Tesla that have absolutely nothing to do with it being an EV A brief thread:

The youngest members of staff in any organisation should always be the best paid. They need to buy a flat or a house, save for kids, and retirement. People in their 60s, in contrast, have very low costs. We shouldn't drag out the change, let's do it all next Tuesday.

I love Chinese food but I almost never see anyone using chopsticks properly. Everyone should be able to use chopsticks to eat with the same grace they use a knife and fork, or a spoon. If your kids can't use chopsticks properly by their 12th birthday you've failed them.

I've recently changed my Siri voice to Irish Female. My wife has basically accused me of having an affair.

M&S are on a roll. Their new store look is beautiful, the ready-to-eat range is much improved and these labels are great. Naysayers pick up on value and lack of perfection - but the perfect is the enemy of the good. As a choice it's so clearly and simply laid out. Great stuff.

What a load of shite! Just found out that @OctopusEnergy values customers more who have a smart meter and gives them loads of rewards! Customers without aren't worthy! #octopusenergy

@MerrynSW Hello/ I’ve long admired your inquiring approach to everything. Microplastics are a rel small part of the overall impact of vehicles - and EVs could be pretty much the same as ICE if they were limited to the same performance. Would love to discuss data on whole picture. DM me?

Tyres on EVs last around 30% less time than those on ICE cars.. All about weight. Also of course leave a lot more micro plastics behind them as result (or so a tyre man tells me..). Maybe it's just a different kind of pollution.
