@coach_kevin_m @richwil7 My semi-controversial theory is that in the girls game, smaller formats should cascade all the way up to U-19 and your club should only be allowed to play 11-a-side if you have a pathway to that format.

Long ball = bypassed midfield, collapsed attacking shape, 50/50 second ball with no positional foundation. Short build-up = numerical superiority, controlled tempo, vertical trigger into half-spaces when the defensive block is already broken. Football is geometry. Not athletics.

@kestrelpsych You shouldn’t be prioritising winning at u10. You should be prioritising improving. Once the aim is just winning the improvement stops

Literally story of my season u10 pre-ECNL 1. Big or fast kid at back who can launch it 2. Fast kid up top who can smash it 3. Shite field so you can’t play actual soccer 4. Constant loud coaching from sideline 🤬

@karenzmirak Even if you feel he need to come off don’t take him off then it destroys players and if players are afraid of making mistakes they don’t take risks . And don’t take any player off before half time it just says you are a risk of losing us this game

@richwil7 👍 What I saw wasn’t that. It was mistake happened, coach looked at the bench, called a player up ran them to half to sub that player that made the mistake off. No communication with the player coming off.

@richwil7 @IHateSoccerPod Not only did I play in Europe. I was a coach and a board of director, for a “club” here in Monterey, CA. I had a crap-ton of talent, really good players, who couldn’t afford our costs #PayToPlay #ProRelForUSA

@DaveKerrPT I hesitate to give any advice because there are million on here and they are all experts. However how about making sure the kids do 2 things 1 enjoy themselves 2 become the best players they are capable of being
