If @itvfootball can’t find a better commentator than @sammatterface then they should not be allowed to have the games. Absolutely dreadful every game. Commentate on the game instead of all the other 💩

@henrywinter The game belongs to the TV companies that pay vast sums of money; that’s why VAR was introduced. It provides more talking points for TV pundits and keeps people watching TV (increasing advetising revenue). VAR is not better for the football fans, it’s not meant to be.

Rather than completely turn the game into micro-refereeing from afar, IFAB needs to shelve ridiculous talk of VAR for free-kicks, corners and 2nd yellows and focus on sorting out a myriad current problems. Namely: excessive delays over decisions (2 mins max please), pedantic and too-frequent interventions, "clear and obvious" ethos being forgotten, and laws changed to accommodate technology's scrutiny (handball's a mess). IFAB and its cheerleaders need to spend more time at games and appreciate that VAR may add to TV experience but it's loathed in grounds. The game does not belong to @TheIFAB @FA_PGMOL. It belongs to those inside grounds. VAR is here to stay, so let's get it better.
