I've run Comrades, paddled Dusi, summitted Kili, finished an Ironman, 100 mile trail run, got degrees, raised kids, got married. Trading is the toughest. You will never master markets. They will break you down, humble you & teach you more about yourself than you ever knew.

Lost a finger last night. the good emergency room at SDSU worked hard to save it. I guess all that’s left is a @polymarket to bet on if the finger can be saved

Gerald Loeb’s favorite market book - from 1959 (but reprinted several times). He mentioned he couldn’t stop jotting down notes from this book

8 books I wished I read in my 20’s. 1. Influenced: Understanding how people manipulate you. 2. A Guide to the Good life: The best intro to Stoicism. Infinitely practical, and helps you deal with life. 3. The Almanack of Naval Ravikant: Rational guide to wealth, growth, work, and happiness. 4. Flow: Undertaking that it’s not about what you do, but how you do it. 5. The Denial of Death Face your morality early in life. 6. Turning pro Learn that creativity is less about inspiration and more about routine and persistence. 7. Man’s Search for Meaning We create our own meaning and life is always worth living 8. Atomic Habits Small changes lead to big compounding results.

Guys, oil is going to $200 a barrel maybe $300. Some experts say it could go up to $1000. Catastrophic. We just need 2 weeks to slow the increase. This is serious and we’re all in this together! Stay home Use less energy No non essential business Close schools Work from home Like clockwork. 🙄🤦‍♂️

Final thought: if oil storage tanks are hit, no big deal, even though explosions look impressive. But if they start destroying actual oil/fuel production facilities - different story - world might be looking at a lengthy supply shock.

@richytee The scammer that spoke to me recited 12 of the 16 numbers on my debit card and asked me to confirm the last 4. The same with the credit card. Knew my ID and even my home address.

Almost got taken by a fraudster yest. Confident African lady posing as Absa fraud had me on the line 15min, sent fake WA, read my name, address, ID, email and 14 of 16 digits of my CC back to me. Note off-centre logo, 070 no & doesn't address me by name. RHS is correct fraud WA #

@Sparkleberrie 100% convinced of that. Had fraud on my card last July. Got a replacement card and same thing in 1 week. I hardly online shop: Garmin Pay, Zapper, Snapscan, Amazon, Uber, Google Pay.

@richytee Where do they get all this information on a person? Down to CC numbers? Must be an inside job

@richytee Happened to me. I opened a case of fraud at Boksburg North police and Absa then investigated and reimbursed the money i lost. Issued new cards. It's Absa employees who give information to these fraudsters. How else could they get this confidential info @ your accounts?

@unordinaryjo Agree bud. Absa does use WA though, via verified number on RHS to poll you for possible fraudulent txns. I have been flagged before when paying a new beneficiary at 4am when awake for my morning run. The rest: yes, agree...but in a busy day, when not screened by truecaller etc.

@richytee Everything about this obviously screams fraud. The profile picture. The number. The fact that it's even a whatsapp message. The lack of verified tick. I can't believe people fall for these things.

Eventually sniffed it out and asked her name and employee number. Wife's private banker confirmed fabricated employee #.
