A little more on Torkelson… I’m not saying he’s going to be just fine. I lean that way….but he’s shown us a couple of poor seasons on his resume. So he could go into a prolonged struggle. None of us are omniscient when it comes to this. He might also become a positive OPS+ guy again like last season. Mostly I’m saying…he’s getting grief over about a 5-game stretch. Let it play out. NOW….if you want to tell me the club would be better off overall w/Tork benched or dealt with Keith at 1B, McG at 3B and a rotating crew at SS and it’s not an argument built on 5 games of data, that’s a fun topic. I’m not ready to agree with it…but it would be fun.

I feel like the Tigers and Cardinals should play the game 45 minutes early. If they start at 1:10, the storm will begin right around 3:45, potentially halting play in the 8th or 9th inning. If they start at 12:30, they may very well get the whole game in

@Devoted2DET I think Kerry’s deliberately trying to change his approach. He realized that swinging at everything, like he’s done his whole career can be easy to beat when he’s not 100% healthy. Needs to add a bit of discipline. I think that can explain a decent amount of his struggles, too

We have opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to swinging the bat. Javy Baez swinging at literally everything to Kerry watching strikes down the pipe.

@DoeJumars That, plus Jace Jung has really made a strong case for himself. You have Max Anderson looking good, too. There’s just not a lot of reason to keep letting him struggle.

I was a bit worried about Tork coming into the season and the guy looks completely lost again, hope he figures it out, but the leash should be pretty short on him in my opinion. His defense isn’t much better than Keith‘s at this point and Keith’s bat is way better right now.
