Lots of people asking about the shift to permanent daylight savings. The data clearly show locking to standard is best. For mental and physical health. That am sunlight is key, But if not, then locking to daylight savings second best. Shifting back-and-forth is the worst choice.

I (embarrassingly) at some point thought that happiness would be a 5 bedroom house in the suburbs with a backyard pool, lush green front yard, and Lexus GX in the driveway I now realize that once basic needs are addressed, happiness for me is: - seeing the mountains every day (a sense of contemplating time / eternity) - a healthy, well-trained body - progress and building towards something (not reaching an end state, but perpetual improvement) - not being weighed down by physical stuff that needs to be maintained - connecting deeply with other people about business and life goals over two hour lunches - minimizing toxic people and drama as best as I can - a routine that minimizes decision fatigue - spending time with wife and kids in the outdoors, watching daughters learn cool stuff - minimizing mental monkey chatter (work in progress for any overly analytical person) Happiness does not lie in riches, but more in single minded presence in the moment without any mental distractions and noise, which ultimately allows you to make great memories
