Had my truck scheduled to get an alignment this morning at Rivian. 10/10 Experience My appointment was at 7 AM. I got there early at 6:45. They’re still closed, they saw me waiting and unlocked the door and welcomed to me in. Started the check process right away and said “they were there already, why not get started”, even though technically they were still closed. Had a technician do a test drive with me. Validated the concerns. Had already assigned me a loaner before I even got back from the test drive. They have a new digital key process for loaners so the car is assigned in your Rivian app almost as seamlessly as Tesla‘s process. Once Rivian gets cloud profiles, I think it will be as seamless. And top it all off my Service advisor had seen my post yesterday about my front being open when I came out of the gym. I got this appointment right away. Just wanted to get a couple things look at before my big road trip, including the alignment. Great job Rivian San Diego!

Rivian also listed 20,000 projected federal units and 5,000 California units for MY2027 in the filing. These are regulatory projections submitted to the EPA, not official production targets, but they provide insight into early expected Rivian R2 volumes for the 2027 model year. Rivian also reiterated its 62,000 - 67,000 vehicle delivery target for 2026 on April 2.

The EPA has released Rivian R2 certification filings, giving us one of the clearest technical looks yet at the R2. Key details: - 86.8 kWh nominal capacity for the "Large" battery - stated 8 year / 150k mile battery warranty - NCA (Nickel Cobalt Aluminum) battery chemistry (vs NMC or LFP) - 210 kW DC fast charging / 48A (11.5 kW) AC charging - New in-vehicle battery health display (pictured below) - Updated proprietary heat pump system designed to improve efficiency, range accuracy, and reduce NVH - 4,998 lb curb weight - ~1,150 lb payload capacity

Looks like Rivian owners will be getting some sort of new option in a future OTA that will give them battery pack health data which is super awesome!

I know this is a Tesla Owners account, but I'm posting this on X on behalf of a fellow Tesla and Rivian owner. It's a lengthy one, but I would appreciate if everyone would repost to get some traction on this. On Feb 13, 2026, I took my pristine 2023 R1T to the Shepherdsville, KY service center for a tow bolt recall. During the service, the truck fell off the lift, causing over $32K in damage. At first, @Rivian did the right thing. The regional service manager called and promised to replace my truck with a new one "for my betterment, not to my detriment." I spent the next few days sending over inventory specs I liked. Then, Risk Management stepped in. They reversed the decision and said they would only repair it. I refused due to diminished value and safety concerns. The truck was ultimately deemed a total loss by Rivian’s insurance, but the payout does not cover the cost of a replacement. I have reached out to the executive team and the Governance Board via signed FedEx letters. I have received zero response. I’m a long-time EV advocate (coming from a Tesla) and have an R2 reservation on file. April 5 is here. Autonomy+ as a software service officially begin today. $50/month or $2,500 lifetime for universal hands free driving, lane changes on command, and future features like automatic parking. Adoption rates will matter here. Curious how many owners actually plan to buy it vs how many plan to skip Autonomy+ altogether.

If @Rivian acted right now, how @Tesla did in 2022, they’d jack up R2 prices by $20k over the next few months for demand… knowing full well next gen hardware is only ~9 months out. I’m so thankful they clearly messaged autonomy, and chose a fair price.

Did you know you can shift your Rivian into Neutral while driving? Or am I just late to figuring this out? Seems almost obvious, I mean all cars can do it but I’ve never needed to in my Rivian so I never knew.

@rj_crafts You’re still contributing with driving data nonetheless but yeah I would imagine the more people who subscribe the better the driving model performs since it’s getting self driving specific data. It incentivizes Rivian to have more users.

This is going to look completely normal sooner than most people think. Seeing an unwrapped Rivian R2 driving around like any other car is when it starts to feel real.

@SP_LimitReviews Exactly. Already got hands free on the highway! Where I live a lot of long backroads so UHF would be handy. Lane change on command seems convenient too.

@RivianUpdates I agree totally. But, even on the roadtrip regular driver + works on the hwy so do we need it? What’s your thoughts?

R2 isn’t just about selling more vehicles. It’s about fixing margins. Rivian finished Q4 2025 at roughly -$6K gross margin per vehicle, and higher factory utilization from R2 is what helps close that gap and will very possible make R1 itself finally gross margin positive. Volume is the unlock.
