The EPA has released Rivian R2 certification filings, giving us one of the clearest technical looks yet at the R2. Key details: - 86.8 kWh nominal capacity for the "Large" battery - stated 8 year / 150k mile battery warranty - NCA (Nickel Cobalt Aluminum) battery chemistry (vs NMC or LFP) - 210 kW DC fast charging / 48A (11.5 kW) AC charging - New in-vehicle battery health display (pictured below) - Updated proprietary heat pump system designed to improve efficiency, range accuracy, and reduce NVH - 4,998 lb curb weight - ~1,150 lb payload capacity

To clarify, Rivian will begin charging for Autonomy+, its enhanced driver assistance package, in April. It’s priced at $50/month or a $2,500 one time (life of vehicle) fee. All Rivian’s standard will include: - Adaptive Cruise Control (hands on) - Lane Keep Assist - Co-Steer - Lane Change Assist Autonomy+ adds: - Universal Hands Free (on laned roads) - Lane Change on command - Auto parking (coming soon) Future features like point to point autonomy expected later this year will likely require Autonomy+.

Well worth the read from our friend @Rivian_DD R2 absorbs $5,000 of cost from r1 due to higher factory utilization. At full capacity 215,000/yr we could see cogs drop by around $10,000 per R1.
