It’s a yes or no question… “We’re busy with playoffs” is a total cop out, and this situation reflects terribly on the organization—even if they want to pretend it’s not for vindictive reasons.

There is possibility if Vegas is compliant with rules, there could be some addressing of this in the future…but it doesn’t sound like there’s room for draft penalty to be revoked…

@PierreVLeBrun It's interesting until you get to matchups like Dallas-Minnesota and Tampa-Montreal, series in which the road team ought to have home ice if it was 1 vs 8. How much more advantage should be given to the higher seed? The 1 vs 8 fix, fixes enough.

A few years ago, Ken Holland suggested an interesting idea at a GMs meeting: that the top seed in a playoff series have the option of opening on the road instead. So play Games 1-2 and 6 on the road. Play Games 3-4-5 and 7 at home.
Look at Florida last year as road warriors, started each series on the road, fed off of it.
Anyway, I do think it’s an idea worth re-visiting.
