Here's a good example about how out of touch the Whitney Museum curators for the Biennale are. If you look at the description, it notes a work at "Washington Avenue." Except -- it's Washington Street, literally just up the block from the Museum. Indicates the level and quality that went into the exhibit, which is so severely limited in its perspectives as to be, like this note, out of touch with the world around them. #whitneymuseum #biennale #art #whitney

Seeing the movie #MartySupreme reminded me of my own experience confronting a "new" paddle. I was teaching at JHS 65, on the Bowery, many years ago. At lunch they set up a ping pong table in the general area. As I watched, some of the kids asked if I wanted to play. I said yes, somewhat smugly, as is I was hiding a super power. After all, I had been ping pong champion at McKinley Junior High in Brooklyn some years before. Another chance to impress the kids. The Chinese student across the table was holding a racket I had not seen before, and gripping it in a way I had not seen before. He served, and Bam! My ball went off the table to the side. So much spin. Another serve and Bam, my ball went off the other side. I think I lost around 21-2. Quite a lesson! #pingpong #teaching #humiliating
