President Trump says you have to be very smart and physically in shape to be an astronaut. “I would've had no trouble making it, I'm physically very good.”

I am currently on a Laurel and Hardy kick. When you consider how old this is it still strikes me as genius. Apparently Maggie Smith loved this. She had taste. It is still genius.

To many of us, #Blackadder is part of every day parlance. Which phrases from the show do you use yourself and when you do you use them? Example: When someone offers me a cup of tea, I say: "Yes, immediately!" You get the idea. Will RT the best ones.

BOMBSHELL: Iran offered to give away ALL of its enriched uranium during peace talks in Geneva. The British thought it was a credible offer. Hours later, Trump started bombing Iran anyway. The US didn't want peace, they wanted war.

On July 4, 1850, President Zachary Taylor attended Independence Day celebrations at the Washington Monument construction site. He consumed large quantities of cherries and iced milk in the summer heat. Within hours, he fell violently ill with severe digestive distress. His condition deteriorated rapidly over five days. Army physician Alexander S. Wotherspoon diagnosed "cholera morbus"—a catch-all term for intestinal ailments unrelated to the cholera epidemic then ravaging Washington. Taylor's doctors treated him with ipecac, calomel, opium, and massive doses of quinine—approximately 2.6 grams per dose. They also bled and blistered him repeatedly. On July 8, Taylor told his attendant: "I should not be surprised if this were to terminate in my death. I did not expect to encounter what has beset me since my elevation to the Presidency. God knows I have endeavored to fulfill what I conceived to be an honest duty." He died the following evening at 10:35 p.m., aged 65, having served just 16 months in office. Rumors of assassination spread immediately. Southerners who opposed his anti-slavery territorial policies were suspected, as were Catholics. In 1991, his body was exhumed and tested. Neutron activation analysis found arsenic levels hundreds of times below poisoning thresholds. Modern analysis suggests acute gastroenteritis from contaminated food or water, worsened fatally by aggressive medical treatment that likely killed him faster than the disease itself. © History Oasis #archaeohistories

Quentin Tarantino was one week away from pulling the plug on Inglourious Basterds (2009). 🎬 He famously stated that he believed the character of Hans Landa was “unplayable” due to the specific linguistic genius required to switch effortlessly between German, French, English, and Italian. He couldn’t find anyone who could deliver the poetry of the dialogue. Then, Christoph Waltz walked into the audition room. Tarantino later said, “If I hadn’t found someone as good as Christoph, I might not have made Inglourious Basterds.” Waltz went on to win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for this performance. 🏆 Is this the best acting performance in a Tarantino movie? 👇
