I usually don’t share private conversations but this one is worth sharing
Spoke with one of my mentors this weekend and he put things in perspective
He said that most of us get 3 lives
0 - 20 years of age
20 - 40 years of age
40 - 60 years of age
Many of us are on our second life
It greatly put things in perspective for me
That we have used up our first life already. It happened that quickly
Every next day will become more important than the previous
Why? Because we are a day closer to concluding that life
Apply the scarcity principle to your life and not just the products that you sell

@itstaeminkim One thing I think it’s important to remember is that what you want and what the employee (or prospective employee) wants are usually different. Some want money, some want recognition, some want an extra week off, some want to be close to family.
English

I’m kinda disappointed. Had bigger dreams and goals for an employee that previously worked for me.
She was a gem but had to leave a few years back due to life stuff. Recently I reached out to offer her a 6 figure job, flew her out and let her see what role she would be filling. This opportunity came with a relocation package with the opportunity of growth to make mid 6 figures.
The sad thing is I know she would absolutely kill it but doesn’t matter if she doesn’t think so.
It’s tough to see someone you believe in hesitate to take that leap. I guess it just goes to show that no matter how much potential someone has, if they can’t see it for themselves, there’s not much you can do to change their mind. It’s a reminder that the biggest battle isn’t external, it’s internal. You can give someone the best opportunities in the world, but if they don’t have the confidence to seize them, they’ll always hold themselves back.
All I can do is respect her decision and hope she finds the courage to step into her potential someday. It’s disappointing for sure, but I know the right person is out there who’s ready to take this role and run with it. You win some, you lose some and sometimes, you just have to let go and trust the process.

@LouStagner Inside 10ft relatively flat putt use the line, big breaking putt inside 10 gotta use your feel and athleticism. Outside of 10 just hit it. You’re not making it anyway.

Should you putt with a line on your ball?
If you've ever wondered whether a line on your golf ball actually helps, a study by Brad Stenner and Jonathan Buckley has some answers. Their research sheds light on whether using a line on your ball really improves putting performance, and the results might just change your approach on the greens.
Study Overview
The researchers recruited 29 skilled amateur golfers, all with handicaps of 12 or lower (average handicap of 7.6). These players each hit 30 putts on a flat green, using their own putters and balls. Half the putts were hit with a ball with a line on it, and the other half with a ball without a line. The distances for these putts varied based on the golfer's skill level, ranging from 5 feet 7 inches up to 8 feet 6 inches.
Key Findings
The standout result? At the longest distance of 8 feet 6 inches, players holed 27% more putts with the line compared to without it (an average of 9.7 putts made with the line versus 7.6 without). For shorter distances — 5 feet 7 inches and 7 feet 6 inches — there was no significant difference between the two methods.
What’s Behind the Improvement?
You might think the alignment mark’s sole purpose is to help you aim better, but the study suggests something deeper is at play. Many participants reported that using the alignment mark helped them concentrate more and stick to a consistent pre-shot routine. This is a crucial insight because, as any golfer knows, confidence and routine can be huge factors in putting well. The line seemed to serve as a mental trigger, helping golfers get into a focused state before striking the ball.
The Study’s Conclusion: a simple change with a big potential impact. Stenner and Buckley concluded that using a line on your ball can indeed be beneficial, especially for longer putts where accuracy tends to drop off.
However, the researchers also pointed out that this isn't a one-size-fits-all solution. More studies are needed to determine if the line on the ball is just as helpful on breaking putts or for golfers with higher handicaps. But based on their findings, the line on the ball offers a straightforward way to gain a potential edge.
The next time you’re on the practice green, consider experimenting with a line on the ball. It might help you establish a more focused, consistent routine and improve your putting accuracy in those critical scoring zones.
Remember, it’s not about completely changing your game overnight but finding those small, incremental gains that can add up to better scores. Experiment with using a line on your ball, focus on developing your routine, and see if it transforms your putting. Experiment. Measure. Go with what works FOR YOU!
So, should you use a mark on your ball? The evidence suggests it's worth trying.

@Coach_Yac Folks like to point his great SB game too and I like to point out that’s because the chiefs had arguably the two best pair of corners in the league last year on BA and Deebo all game.

Brian Baldinger on Jauan Jennings:
"He's always been dependable. It always seemed like he was that third or fourth option, which everybody needs. But maybe, you can watch that game and go, maybe they paid the wrong guy. Maybe that's the guy that should be their go to guy, just the way that he performed."

@beaniemaxi I always amazed how many people claim to make these “life changing” connections at crypto events and all that means is dude now says GM back

@MyGolfSpy It’s a charity scramble. There is usually no limit to the number of mulligans or string or whatever gimmick they have to get folks to spend more to benefit the charity and improve their score. I’ve even been in some where you can buy strokes off your final score.

I don't know about y'all, but I am so done with scrambles.
I'm going to need you all to start proving these scores in a playoff or something
Because a smooth -27 just isn't it....

@SteveKBark @apecoin @kodama_eth You love Apecoin dao and the ecosystem and then you go into very detailed reasons why it’s an unmitigated disaster.
English

The @apecoin DAO may have just lit $210,000 on fire with AIP-502: The Apemobile.
Before I get into why:
⭐️I don't fault @kodama_eth - gg on the proposal. And Kodama rocks. No shade or hate toward him.
⭐️I want to be wrong, and I will do what I can to help this succeed. I love the ApeCoin DAO and ApeCoin ecosystem.
⭐️I was not involved in the AIP process so I have accountability in not providing feedback.
Okay, now the proposal. The ApeCoin DAO just approved $210,000 to buy, wrap (with BAYC branding), and insure a BMW for one member of the club to drive for three years. The proposal only promises one post per week in return, alongside an amorphous promise to attend crypto events.
As I get into my issues, it's important to note that I have 15+ years of marketing/communications experience leading multiple disciplines at Fortune 500 and multinational companies. If I brought this proposal to my boss or client, it would not get approved, and in the case of a client, they may actually fire me.
Here are my issues:
💸COST INEFFECTIVE💸
The proposal calls it "cost effective marketing." This is incorrect. Out of Home is cost ineffective on its own and is often supplementary to other marketing. It's hyper localized compared to other forms of marketing like paid search, social, email, content/creator (like podcast/video sponsorships), etc. etc.
When was the last time you bought a product you saw on a wrapped car? Probably never. But I bet you bought a product your favorite creator endorsed or talked about. Likewise you've probably bought something sent to you via email, or in the "people also bought" section of various sites.
🫗NO REACH🫗
As I understand it, the once a week post is coming from Kodama. No shade, but Kodama averages one post every two days in September. And, the majority of his posts are the same picture of his Punk with "gm." Many posts have sub 1,000 views. All of them are sub 10,000 views. That's a very small scope of influence.
Again, this is not shade, it's highlighting the distribution plan. Unless there's a major viral moment, creators like Threadguy and Rasmr will do more impressions in a week (sometimes a day) than this will do in three years.
🚗NEW CAR🚗
Does this need to be a new, high-end BMW? Wrapping a car would still likely be a poor use of funds without more details, but we're buying a new car that cost almost half the price of an average US home.
❓NO PLAN❓
This is (once again) on me for not asking questions during the process, but what's the plan? If he's driving it to the store to buy lettuce, we got fleeced. If he's spending money with people who know how to do viral marketing, and it pops, we might have something. If he has a storytelling arc with a content series, it could be cool.
He mentions driving it to cryto events. I sincerely hope this is not then entire plan. You don't need to spread awareness there. That's bringing sand to the beach. You should do it, but it CANNOT be the primary use case for this to be successful.
📏NO MEASUREMENT📏
For my show sponsors, I track the listeners, cost per qualified listener, comments, reach, cost per impression, and many other metrics. This is in addition to anecdotal feedback. I provide a monthly update to them with these metrics and how we're making an impact.
🦧SKEPTICAL BUT SUPPORTING🦧
I could go on, but I just don't get it. At the moment, I find myself bummed that we just spent $210,000 to effectively buy one person a new car.
However, this is how DAOs work and the community voted it through. And, as stated up top, I love the DAO (they even sponsor my show) and will do what I can to help this succeed.
Kodama is smart and successful, so I'm hoping he can pull something awesome off here.

Proud of @farokh for securing and conducting the interview with Trump. Massive win for him and the opportunity of a lifetime. He has unrelentlessly put in the work day in and day out. Also kudos to his team, it certainly takes a village.
Having said that, there was zero substance communicated by Trump. He knows nothing about crypto as evidenced by his totally superficial comments in the matter.
The discussion then moved to promoting the World Liberty project which gave me scam/rug vibes all over. If you were here since the early days, I would be surprised if you didn't think this was another plain vanilla celebrity rug.
Biden's and Gary's stance on crypto has been an abomination, but I don't think Trump's supposed support of the industry means anything, because his word doesn't mean shit. If (big if) he becomes POTUS again, he'll have an opportunity to prove me wrong. Until then, I am 100% skeptical.

@Chilearmy123 Social pressure is real. I happily hit “custom” and leave a buck at the coffee shop I frequent or one where the staff has been super awesome but there’s just no reason to tip all the time at anything other than a sit down restaurant.
