You forgot the biggest thing that tax money has built - An army of laabharthis, the ladki bahins, the subhadras, the sammanit kisaans etc. These laabharthis will ensure election victories, and the taxpayers will keep the money flowing for that. Footpaths, fixing drainage don't fetch votes. Why will the govt waste resources in all this if just distributing money works for them. So keep paying taxes to ensure that the "party with a difference" keeps winning elections.

Just came to know this... in Maharashtra you cannot buy agricultural land if you are not a farmer. Under the Maharashtra Tenancy and Agricultural Lands Act, only agriculturists or people from a farming family can buy farmland. That means: • You are a farmer • Your parents/grandparents were farmers • Or you already own agricultural land somewhere in India Otherwise, you need special permission from the District Collector. Were you guys aware of this? 🤔
