Bank Holiday Monday can be a good opportunity to pause, reflect, and think about where our profession is heading. In just a couple of weeks, the MACP Study Day 2026 will bring together clinicians from across the MSK community to explore exactly that — with conversations around complexity, innovation, leadership, inclusion, AI, sustainability, advanced rehabilitation, and the future direction of physiotherapy practice. At a time when MSK services continue to evolve rapidly, opportunities to step outside the day-to-day clinical pace and engage in thoughtful professional discussion feel more important than ever. There are still some final places available, including heavily reduced student tickets as part of MACP’s commitment to supporting the next generation of MSK clinicians. Looking forward to what promises to be an excellent day of challenge, reflection, and shared learning. #MACP #MSK #Leadership #Innovation #ProfessionalDevelopment

Really looking forward to hearing Vasileios (Vas) Georgopoulos @vasilis_georgop speak at the upcoming MACP Study Day 2026. His presentation — “Exploring the delivery of MSK treatment to unique, under-represented, and under-served populations” — tackles one of the most important conversations currently facing modern MSK practice. As physiotherapy continues to evolve, questions around equity of access, inclusivity, cultural awareness, and how we better reach underserved communities are becoming central to delivering high-quality patient care. This is exactly the kind of contemporary, thought-provoking discussion MACP is passionate about supporting. With only a couple of weeks to go, there are still limited places available — including heavily reduced student tickets as part of MACP’s commitment to supporting the next generation of clinicians. Looking forward to a fantastic day of discussion, challenge, and shared learning. #MACP #Physiotherapy #MSK #HealthEquity #Inclusion #ClinicalReasoning #StudentPhysio #ProfessionalDevelopment

AI is already changing MSK practice — but what does that actually mean for clinicians, services and patients? At this year’s MACP Study Day, our panel discussion will explore: Digital & AI innovation in MSK practice With contributions from: Ash James Exploring AI in physiotherapy Chris Efford What’s here now vs. what’s coming next Jayne Davies Implementing AI in MSK services: lessons learned, risks, governance and adoption This session will move beyond the hype and focus on the real questions for MSK practice: How is AI already being used? What opportunities are emerging? What are the risks? How do we implement innovation safely and meaningfully? What does good governance look like? MSK Practice at a Crossroads feels particularly relevant when considering digital transformation and AI. This is an opportunity to hear from people actively engaging with these changes and to think critically about what comes next for our profession. What will you actually take away from the MACP Study Day? It’s not just a strong line-up — it’s the depth and range of thinking across the day. 🔹 Clinical session – Chris Mercer @Mercephysio “Managing clinical complexity in MSK practice” A focused, practical session tackling one of the biggest challenges in modern MSK care — complexity — with clear application to day-to-day clinical practice. 🔹 Keynote – Ian Horsley “Current concepts in rehabilitation of the shoulder – it's definitely NOT a no brainer” Bringing insight from high-performance and elite sport into how we approach shoulder rehabilitation in wider MSK settings. 🔹 Keynote – Roger Kerry @rogerkerry1 “Physiotherapy at the Crossroads” Challenging how we think about physiotherapy practice — complexity, decision-making, and the evolving role of the profession. This combination is where the value sits: 👉 Practical application + high-level clinical thinking 📍 Birmingham 📅 Saturday 6th June If you’re looking to develop your clinical reasoning and challenge your current approach, this is a day worth being at. 👇 Programme + booking macpweb.org/study-day-2026… #MSK #Physiotherapy #MACP #ClinicalReasoning #FCP
