Lol. Ada County Sheriff Clifford testified against 287(g) all session. Rallied his buddies. Signed the Idaho Sheriffs' Association letter saying it "carries significant, unfunded costs" and would "create redundancy" without helping public safety. And he... is now signing the 287(g) agreement with ICE. Why? Probably Alabama. A sheriff there wouldn't sign 287(g) and lost reelection after almost three decades in office. Now Clifford says his previous statements were only about a mandatory program. Not a voluntary one. Totally different thing apparently (except, not). So the guy who said it costs too much (it doesn't) and doesn't help public safety (it does)... is signing up for it anyway?! You genuinely cannot make this up.

Our bill to mandate local law enforcement cooperation with ICE died on a 5-4 vote, with the Idaho Sheriff’s Association leading the charge to kill it. Interestingly enough, Florida did this a few years ago (successfully) with the Florida Sheriff’s Association leading the charge to PASS IT (not kill it).

I work at a place that employs a LOT of Indians. We have a big catered company lunch every friday. I never eat the catered food. I make sure to bring beef, and usually a baked potatoe with bacon, because there's a handful of Muslims too. It works as a pretty good repellant, generally. And if one of them does sit near me they just glare the whole time. It's the little things

My office recovered more than $900K in Medicaid fraud last year, but with better data access and the right reforms, we can recover even more.
