I'm working on a new transparent folder encryption app in Zig that leverages modern cryptographic constructions and works over FUSE and NFS (with no kernel extension required on macOS). What should I call it? Current name is zcryptfs.

Un peu pathétique cette polémique au sujet des prises USB-A dans le métro parisien. L'USB-A permet de servir plus de personnes, tout le monde n'a pas forcèment un appareil cher/moderne. À la sortie de l'USB-D, on change les métros ? Promenez-vous avec un câble USB-A, ça existe !

@ACBM_COM Le NIST vient de publier leurs recommandations pour les mots de passes. Arrêter de les changer souvent, et privilégier des phrases longues ainsi qui simplifier les règles avec les caractères spéciaux… À mon sens les impôts s’adaptent.

le site Web des impôts en France impose désormais un mot de passe de 20 caractères minimum (!) et un changement tous les trois ans (alors que le changement de mot de passe fait débat dans le milieu de la sécurité). Bon, il n'y a plus qu'à retenir 2024 suivi de 1234567890123456...

When installing Ubuntu, make sure you turn on disk encryption. You don't want a laptop out in the world without your data encrypted. Click "Advanced Features", then pick "Use LVM and encryption". You'll pick a password, and you're set.

Ghostty on Linux now isolates each terminal surface (tab, split, window) into its own cgroup with customizable resource limits. When a command is using too much CPU or memory, only that terminal surface will be throttled or killed rather than the entire Ghostty process. 😍 (This can be disabled and configured in a variety of ways, of course)

it gets better! Needed to check if a file exists, Bun.file() is a lazy-loaded reference so you can check if it exists, read the file, or write to it all with the same file instance.

👌 this Bun API is so nice. Write to file by passing it a fetch Response. No fussing with piping streams, concatenating chunks or checking that a folder exists first.

What is a simple way to automatically load a DLL into a *specific* executable without using a special launcher? Most debuggers don't have an easy way to launch a process other than the one being debugged. AppInit_DLLs is global and annoying. Is it possible to use IFEO reg keys?
