@HMRCcustomers I need help to set-up my tax software as I can't verify my identity with the options provided

@HMRCcustomers This option isn't given to me when I try to authorise my tax software. Since I live abroad I can't file using the self-assessment website, I have to use this software. The paper return deadline has passed but I am unable to file digitally. Can I still submit a paper return?

@HMRCcustomers I pasted the screenshots here. Aside from that form is there a phone number I can call to verify my identity? I have tried to call the main support number but it keeps saying it's unable to take my call after the welcome messages.

@HMRCcustomers I am trying to do two things: - Fetch my taxpayer data to fill in my tax return on the TaxCalc accounting software kb.taxcalc.com/2755 - Set-up the HMRC app on my phone so I can get 2FA codes When entering my user ID and password, I am shown this: i.snipboard.io/VZtTQi.jpg

@HMRCcustomers I don’t have this option given to me. I have the same problem when I try to verify my identity for the HMRC app. I’m asked to provide 2 out of the 3 items above. Is there a way to call someone to verify my identity in another way?

@HMRCcustomers Hi, that’s right. I am asked for info from my P60, UK passport, or credit check company. But since I moved abroad and am not a UK citizen I only have my P60 info. The credit check company data is not correct

@taimurabdaal @tommycollison Really interesting read. I've been thinking in a similar way for a while. But what may be missing is a "cost" in this model. Otherwise it would be easy to justify constantly "upgrading".

@tommycollison I've been trying to formulate a theory around this kind of thing. closest I've gotten is that certain things, like working out, are "high measure" and almost always worth investing in — taimur.me/posts/measure-… would be interested to hear your thoughts!

I have never regretted putting a bunch of time into working out. Immense returns.

What's the easiest way to give someone money online (in a programmatic way)? Like equivalent for cash? Like send someone $10 that's not tied to any particular vendor (e.g. not an Amazon gift card or doesnt require Venmo account)

@wenttomarket Congrats! Best ones I've worked with from my perspective on vendor and agency side were able to easily manipulate numbers to analyse current performance and prioritise opportunities. There's so much to do and so little time/resources. Good luck!

People don't understand the scale of large numbers. Consider the difference between 1 million and 1 billion. Good thought experiment inspired by @GrahamDuncanNYC on @tferriss 1 million seconds is about 11 days. 1 billion seconds is about 32 YEARS.
