USDT vs USDC ownership by country. Ranked. 🥇 🇳🇬 Nigeria: 59% USDT / 48% USDC 🥈 🇦🇺 Australia: 34% USDT / 29% USDC 🥉 🇮🇳 India: 30% USDT / 27% USDC 4. 🇨🇴 Colombia: 25% USDT / 29% USDC 5. 🇸🇬 Singapore: 29% USDT / 24% USDC 6. 🇿🇦 South Africa: 23% USDT / 29% USDC 7. 🇺🇸 United States: 22% USDT / 26% USDC 8. 🇵🇭 Philippines: 27% USDT / 20% USDC 9. 🇹🇭 Thailand: 25% USDT / 21% USDC 10. 🇦🇷 Argentina: 25% USDT / 20% USDC 11. 🇫🇷 France: 21% USDT / 14% USDC 12. 🇩🇪 Germany: 15% USDT / 17% USDC 13. 🇲🇽 Mexico: 16% USDT / 16% USDC 14. 🇬🇧 United Kingdom: 16% USDT / 14% USDC 15. 🇧🇷 Brazil: 14% USDT / 16% USDC Two things stand out: 🔹 Nigeria is in a league of its own. Nearly 60% USDT ownership. Dollar-denominated savings aren't optional when your local currency loses value daily. 🔹 USDC is catching up. In Colombia, South Africa, US, Germany, and Brazil, USDC ownership actually exceeds USDT. The regulated stablecoin is gaining ground. USDT still leads globally. But the gap is narrowing fast. Good morning everyone, if you check my last article, I wrote about how anonmesh works even in real life situations/events Now I will be diving deeper and explain what it is So what It Is anonmesh anonmesh is an app that lets you message and pay people without internet, cell service, or a bank. Your phone connects directly to nearby phones using Bluetooth and long range radio. Those phones pass your message to others. It keeps moving until it reaches the right person. Anonmesh doesn't need cell towers WiFi connectivity, they don't even need any company watching. Why It Matters Now in situations when networks go down, we lose two things: communication and money. » Disasters destroy cell towers » Governments cut internet during protests » Crowded events overload networks » Rural areas have dead zones forever In all these moments, anonmesh keeps working regardless of the events, you can still message love ones and still send funds...everything stays encrypted and private. How It Works Three things make anonmesh different: 1. Offline first : Phones talk directly to phones,no infrastructure required 2. Private by default : all messages and transactions are encrypted, no phone number needed. 3. Built for payments : one can send Solana transactions offline through the mesh. Every phone becomes part of the network. When you relay a message for someone else, you earn rewards through their Proof of Relay system and Behind the scenes, Arcium's encrypted compute keeps everything private. The mesh doesn't just pass data around it computes on encrypted information without ever exposing it. Why I'm Paying Attention I don't live in a disaster zone, I don't go to protests ngl, my city has decent signal most days but I've been in enough dead zones to know how fast things fall apart without connection and honestly I like the idea of having something that works even when the usual things don't. Take for example the situation happening in Iran currently with the war with Israel and USA, citizens of the affected countries would definitely need anonmesh I'm not saying all these because I'm paranoid but because infrastructure fails too, It fails in rich countries, poor countries, during storms ,protests, even war periods just like I stated happening now in Iran Anonmesh is not just an app, for me I believe it has 2 abilities which one ability is to reach someone and the other ability to help them. They're building something really nice and thats wonderful💜 @Arcium @anon0mesh

@Austin_Federa The challenge is that "complexity powers the status quo". This technical, legal and regulatory complexity makes it very difficult to change TradFi. Moving to structured addresses in ISO 29022 messages (~2 attributes) takes over 8 years.

Crypto has entered it's 'uncanny valley' phase. It is no longer an outsider, but it also has not been able to meaningfully compete with traditional finance outside of payments. Stablecoins are by far the most successful crypto product in tradfi, while the most successful tradfi product in crypto continues to be the ETF, and other wrapper vehicles. What's notable about both of these areas of adoption is they are slow, non-competitive uses of crypto. Let's dig into this a bit First let's look at stablecoins: While stablecoins offer offer 'fast' settlement compared to an ACH, wire, or cards, payments are a non-competitive use case, where what both parties want is fast and efficient certainty, but neither is in competition with one another. They don't actually need to be the fast, just 'fast enough'. This might seem counterintuitive, but ask yourself why functionally no forex happens onchain? Crypto is simply not competitive when speed is the deciding factor of profit. It's largely the same with ETFs and wrapper vehicles. These are, at best, mid frequency trade positions (those who want exposure to an asset in a more convenient or compliant format than a wallet) For nearly ever crypto asset (and any of the major assets) price discovery, ironically, does not happen onchain. It happens on centralized trading venues like Binance, Upbit, OKX, ByBit, etc. Why is that? All these trading venues offer significantly faster and more dependable venue for traders. And yet, these crypto exchanges are comparatively quite slow relative to traditional exchanges like New York Stock Exchange and its counterparts around the world. So we find ourselves at a crossroads – are we serious about wanting to compete with traditional finance? If so, we need to take speed more seriously. That's what we're doing at DoubleZero.

The entire problem is that there is nothing eu can move to Greenland to provide a deterrent. So USA needs to build up a large enough presence there that it might as well be under USA control in practice. Nuclear deterrence is useless without conventional parity. If eu had a deterrent, there would be nothing to worry about. x.com/toly/status/20…
toly 🇺🇸@toly

Preemptive strike wins in MAD because it’s ev+ for survivors of the strike to sue for peace. So the second strike has to come before the first one lands, otherwise it can’t be a deterrent. Russian subs that sneak through the giuk gap can strike faster than a response strike can launch. This is why geenland matters and will matter for the next thousand years.

Welcome to the world of might is right! This should motivate every country to start its own nuclear bomb program because they cannot rely on international rule of law and AI will make the development easier. How much damage one dumbass can cause! The French nuclear arsenal should be moved to Greenland asap as a favor to the world to activate the MAD defense and deter Trump!

BREAKING: President Trump announces a 10% tariff on Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, Netherlands, and Finland beginning February 1st. This tariff will be increased to 25% beginning on June 1st. Tariffs will remain in effect until the US reaches a deal to buy Greenland. “It is time for Denmark to give back,” Trump says.

It seems that @CantonNetwork has the institutional adoption that we hoped Concordium would achieve. "Privacy by Segregation." Canton is a "network of networks" designed for TradFi heavyweights (Goldman Sachs, Deloitte, DTCC) Nowadays Concordium could position itself as the blockchain that is not U.S. dominated.

I am convinced the best way to think of AI is as a programming language similar to javascript, python, rust etc issues will arise if you try to use rust from a ruby POV similarly, issues will arise if you're not specific enough when using AI

@sytaylor @austincampbell I totally disagree. I think "It's VERY EASY to imagine a world in 2030 where robots and spaceships coexist with bank holidays and wire cutoff times." I would even bet on it. Why? --> Status Quo bias.

WOW: Rain just raised $250M at a $1.95B valuation 🤯 17x increase in 10 months. 30x card growth. 38x payment volume growth. Stablecoin linked cards are on fire --- What is Rain actually building? - Rain is a Visa Principal Member. - That's the same direct Visa relationship as JPMorgan Chase — not a BIN sponsor, not a program manager. Direct settlement. Direct product development. Direct control. For a company founded in 2021, that's almost unheard of. --- Why does that matter? - Because Rain doesn't compete with stablecoin issuers. - It makes stablecoins spendable. - Anywhere Visa is accepted. 150 million merchants. 150+ countries. The user sees a dollar balance. The merchant sees a normal Visa transaction. The stablecoin never surfaces. --- Visa can authorize 65,000 transactions per second, 24/7. But most bank settlement still follows bank hours. Authorize on Friday, holiday on Monday, settle on Tuesday. Credit risk builds up in those gaps. Rain settles in USDC (which Visa has enabled) That means 7-day settlement. No bank holiday delays. Reduced collateral requirements. Working capital that actually works. As @raincards CEO put it: "It's difficult to imagine a world in 2030 where robots and spaceships coexist with bank holidays and wire cutoff times." --- The Western Union partnership tells you where this is headed. A 174-year-old remittance company just launched their own stablecoin (USDPT on Solana) and picked Rain as the first infrastructure partner for their Digital Asset Network. That's 400,000+ retail locations. Stablecoin to cash conversion at the corner store. --- The founders' history matters. Farooq Malik was CIO at the North American Development Bank. He saw cross-border payments break constantly and looked for a better rail. Charles Naut is Stanford CS, founded a company acquired by Intuit, then was principal engineer at QuickBooks. He's built infrastructure at scale before. --- Rain is processing $3B+ in annualized volume across 200+ partners. - Western Union, - Nuvei, - KAST. And something I keep hearing? "This is one of the fastest growing companies in our portfolio" From multiple investors. Watch out for Rain making it Rain.

After 100+ investments and probably 500-1000 founders pitching me, I can say this with confidence: Tokenomics rarely tell you anything meaningful about the project. But they tell you a lot about the founder. • High FDV → ego & greed issues • Dual equity/token structures → sees crypto as a cash grab • Over-engineered vesting → low confidence in the product • Massive airdrops → no real GTM, hype over longevity • Over-engineered tokenomics → no product I could go on with this list forever, but you get the point. Well-designed tokenomics are nice to have, but almost never the reason a project succeeds. A great product people actually want can survive terrible tokenomics. The best tokenomics in the world will never save a useless product. Unfortunately most founders confuse the two.

2026 has many uncertainties, but one thing that is certain is federal debt skyrocketing. When debt levels take off: - Government has an incentive to tolerate inflation instead of default. - Central banks are pressured to keep rates lower than inflation for long periods. - Holding cash or bonds guarantees you lose money. That forces us to look for assets that: - Aren’t tied to a single government’s balance sheet. - Can’t be diluted to solve fiscal problems. - Are portable and liquid across borders. What asset meets that criteria? 🤔

What's "Max Pain"? It's when the thought of buying an asset makes you feel sick. It's when everyone around calls you stupid for thinking of buying. It's when mainstream news runs cover stories on the asset being dead. It's when the voices in your head question whether it really is dead. Are we there yet?
