Why Context Matters by Ronald W. Robey (written October 26, 2025) Context matters — here’s why: Leviticus 27:30 • “The tithe of the land” can be twisted to mean the entire landmass of the earth, if taken out of context. Malachi 3:10–11 • “Ye” can be twisted to mean Christians, if taken out of context. • “Tithes” can be twisted to mean ten percent of your money, if taken out of context. • “Storehouse” can be twisted to mean your local church, if taken out of context. • “Blessing” can be twisted to mean an unexpected check, if taken out of context. Hebrews 7:6–8 • “Here” can be twisted to mean the church building, if taken out of context. • “Men that die” can be twisted to mean pastors, if taken out of context. • “Tithes” can be twisted to mean money, if taken out of context. • “There” can be twisted to mean Heaven, if taken out of context. • “he” can be twisted to mean Jesus, if taken out of context. Devotional Thought: When Scripture is lifted out of its context, truth becomes distorted and error begins to sound convincing. Many doctrines today stand only because verses were removed from the soil in which God planted them and planted where they were never meant to grow. Truth survive when torn from its context. If we are to honor God’s Word, we must study it in the light of who was speaking, to whom they were speaking, and under what covenant they lived. Truth does not change with opinion or popularity…it is revealed through proper context. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Unlocking the Understanding of Malachi 3:10 by Ronald W. Robey Since Malachi 3:7-8 is calling for a return to God's tithe and offerings Ordinances, Malachi 3:10 should be interpreted through the commandments and statutes written in God's tithe Ordinance. God's tithe Ordinance says that His holy tithe is to be: a) agricultural (Leviticus 27:30,32; Nehemiah 10:37) b) given to biological descendants of the patriarch Levi as their inheritance (Numbers 18:21-24; Deuteronomy 14:27; Nehemiah 10:37) c) given iin the land of Canaan/Israel (Deuteronomy 12:10-11) The biological descendants of theb patriarch Levi are to take a tithe of the tithes they receive from the congregation to God's House (Nehemiah 10:38) which is the Temple at Jerusalem (2 Chronicles 6:5-6) Therefore the literal interpretation of Malachi 3:10 is, "Brng one percent of Israel's agricultural crops to the storehouse chambers in the Temple at Jerusalem. so that there will be food in Mine House.

@ChuksEricE This man here is an antichrist. He knows his audience , so he sells all sorts to them. Prov. 11:24 says He who gives freely, grows richer. Malachi 3:10, says God will cause windows of heaven to open to pour blessings. He knows his audience.

1. You don’t lose money by giving. You multiply it. “Bring the whole tithe… test me in this.” - Malachi 3:10 God literally says: test Me. Nothing else. Just this.

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION & DISCUSSION: 1. According to Nehemiah 10:37, what items did the people promise to bring directly "unto the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God"? 2. Where did the people bring their tithes of the ground, and who received them first? 3. Based on Nehemiah 10:38, what specific portion of the tithes was ultimately brought "into the treasure house" of the house of God, and who brought it? 4. In Numbers 18:21, what reason is given for God giving all the tenth in Israel to the Levites as an inheritance? 5. According to Numbers 18:22, what consequence is described if the children of Israel were to come near the tabernacle? Consider how this commandment interacts with the instructions in Nehemiah 10. 6. Compare and contrast who brought tithes to God's House versus who received the people's tithes initially, based on these two passages. What distinction does the text make? SUMMARY / KEY TAKEAWAY: Write one sentence reflecting on what you learned about the recipients and purpose of firstfruits offerings and tithes.

The answer depends on which you are referring to. Giving tithes of war spoils is biblical. Gen. 14 Giving tithes of agriculture grown/bred on land inherited in Istael is biblical. Lev. 27:30-33; Deuteronomy 12:10-11 Giving tithes of monetary wages? Nowhere to be found in the Bible. And if it isn’t found in the Bible…it can’t be biblical.

Prof is absolutely spot on in this video. The prosperity gospel madness in a terribly poor country like Nigeria is a scam that impoverishes vulnerable people and enriches a few charlatans in the pulpit.

@JS_StrngstSldr There’s no Biblical commandment to tithe, and no it’s not Malachi 3:10, that’s pointing back to Deuteronomy 14, and the failure of the people and the priests to do right by the widows, orphans and visitors to the land. Tithing in the LDS corporation is spiritual extortion.

He doesn’t. Pastors are lying. Here’s the proof: God’s tithe ordinance (Leviticus 27:30-33) says that the elements of God’s holy tithe are: — the seed of the land — the fruit of the tree — the tenth livestock animal to pass under the rod These are all agricultural. They are not money. So am I saying you must give agriculture as tithe? Not at all! For Leviticus 27:34 tells is the tithe Ordinance was given for the children of Israel, and Deuteronomy 12:10-11 tells us that those God gave His tithe Ordinance for were to FIRST move to Canaan to live there, and THEN god would tell them the place they were to take their tithes. Don’t m8ss that…tithes were only required in the land of Canaan (later renamed Israel). Nowhere else. Pastors aren’t teaching God’s tithe…they’re twisting it.
