Do you see how long the NRM can sustain the news cycle and literally lock the opposition or whatever is left of it from the headlines? Who now cares even if someone from the opposition called a press conference? When was the last time you checked the handles of gundi who went outside? In this Kavuyo he may drop the list of the new cabinet and we then move to that one and as we are digesting that one then they pick another heavy weight! Atulina bulungi nyo 🤣🤣🤣🤣

This week, the @ESAFFUG team wrapped up a field visit across four districts of Kumi, Mbale, Bugiri, and Mayuge to strengthen Community Agroecology Schools (CAS) structures by building the capacity of their committees in agroecology, leadership, operations, record-keeping and how to create synergies with the existing government authorities especially the extension/production department at the Subcounty level. Through our #ECOTOPIA programme on Enabling Transformative Agroecology (ETAP), supported by DKA Austria, we documented farmer-led Agroecological initiatives, institutionalized and strengthened CAS Committee structures and enhanced local coordination for readiness to implement the #ECOTOPIA programme on Agroecological transition and transformation in Eastern Uganda. @dkaaustria @H3000EastAfrica #AgroecologyNow #ETAP2026

We can reduce the dangers that chemical-intensive farming poses to our food systems by turning to safer, nature-friendly alternatives. Muheki Grace, a small-scale farmer from Kyamukona Women’s Group and a participant in the CRIFS project in Mubende district explains how bio-inputs not only prevent pest infestations but also improve soil health and support a balanced ecosystem. @HuduHussein We can't risk our national security and power just because of mere foreign funds, by da way isn't agriculture the backup of our Uganda's economy? We want to see this bill passed!

@afrisagacity In South Africa, it’s striking to hear someone with no formal education repeatedly complain that a foreign national working as a doctor has taken their job. It raises serious questions about the underlying issues affecting our fellow Black sisters and brothers.

Xenophobic South Africans attempted to attack the White (migrant) community and they retaliated. This is satisfying to watch. This is why the cowards only have power over black African immigrants. They are too afraid to dare the White community in the country!✍️

𝗣𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘅𝘆? Europe bans hazardous agrochemicals to protect its own citizens, yet continues to export the same chemicals to African countries such as Uganda, where farmers often use them with little protection. This is not just a regulatory gap. It is a business model. And one of the starkest double standards in global agriculture. On this International Day of Peasants’ Struggle, we stand in solidarity with small-scale farmers and peasants around the world defending land, seeds, and dignity amid rising inequality, climate pressures, and corporate control of food systems. We celebrate progress in advancing #PeasantRights and food sovereignty, but recognition alone is not enough. Action and structural change are essential for just, resilient food systems. Uganda imports large volumes of agrochemicals, yet 59% of the 41 registered for use are classified as highly hazardous by the US EPA and banned in the EU. An insightful article in @DailyMonitor highlights that these chemicals pose serious risks to farmers, consumers, and the environment. Urgent policy action is needed to phase out such toxic substances and promote safer agricultural practices. 👉Read More: monitor.co.ug/uganda/magazin… #BanHazarduousPestcides #FundAgroecology

Women small-scale farmers in Uganda are at the heart of climate adaptation, practicing intercropping and other climate-smart farming methods that protect crops from pests and erratic weather. They also preserve resilient indigenous seeds, and diversify income-generating activities such as crop production, trade, and animal rearing to better withstand climate shocks. #WomenFarmersAtTheCentre #IWD2026 #FeedTheFuture

Earlier today, our National Coordinator @NMugimba led the @ESAFFUganda team in signing an MoU with the Uganda Parliamentary Alliance on Food and Nutrition Security (UPA-FNS). This partnership formalizes our collaboration to strengthen food and nutrition security in Uganda by connecting small-scale farmers, especially women, youth, and marginalized groups with Parliament and the different parliamentary processes. Together, we will engage in advocacy for nutrition-sensitive policies, small scale farmers–Parliament dialogue, research, policy reviews, joint fundraising and capacity-building on agroecology, climate resilience, and sustainable diets. #FundAgroecology #Parliamentarians4Agroecology

Happy International Women’s Day 2026. Today, we celebrate women farmers at the centre of Uganda’s food future. When women farmers thrive, communities prosper, markets expand, and national food security is strengthened. We recognize the strength, resilience, and achievements of women everywhere. By breaking barriers, leading innovation, and driving positive change, women continue to shape a more inclusive, equitable, and prosperous world. #WomenFarmersAtTheCentre #IWD2026 #FeedTheFuture

Trying to mobilise others to hate Annet Anita Among is the main undoing of many of her detractors. It galvanises & grows her support even more. Underrating & ridiculing her is even worse. AAA’s loyalty to the President & the party is unquestionable. Any team player would do so.

Saved seeds from hybrid varieties often do not perform consistently in the next season, meaning farmers must buy new seed each planting cycle. For small-scale farmers, this recurring cost can be unsustainable and risks concentrating control of seed in corporate hands, weakening #FarmerManagedSeedSystems (FMSS). To strengthen FMSS by conserving resilient seed varieties, @ESAFFUganda launched the Kyere Community Seed Bank (CSB) during #NAF2025, adding to a growing network of 5 CSBs established across the country. 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 Small-scale farmers from the Baradong Farmer Field School (FFS) in Apac district have been steadfast in advancing the transition to agroecology through fish farming, as was evident during the #NationalAgroecologyFestival2025 During demonstrations, they explained that in agroecological settings, fish farming works with nature rather than against it. Their integrated systems in particular contribute to this transition by supporting specie interactions, converting agricultural waste into fish feed, and providing access to food rich in vitamins and minerals. #FundAgroecology
